I agree wholeheartedly.

Sadly the trees planted on Western Road in 1919 to commemorate fallen pupils of Westrn Road School, are not deemed worth protecting either.

We really do have a shit-house coucil with absolutely no sense of history or civic pride.

Western Road will not lose a single healthy tree. Not that the shitehouse council want it that way, but they are in deep legal shit for unlawfully felling street trees, as well as spunking hundreds of thousands of taxpayers money on unsuccessful prosecutions.

The old boy was right, SEB - in the early 50s, I suffered from bronchitis, wandering around sounding like a goose in the fog, I even managed bronchial pneumonia once. When I went to junior school, it turned out that every kid had had the same thing!

Don't think so. In my youth Baker's Hill was the entrance to the backyard of Wigfalls and the steps up to Fitzalan Square. Or am I getting befuddled in my old age?

I get quite depressed when I see how Sheffield used to look, compared to the brutalist monstrosities that replaced some of this stuff.

It could have been such a charming city centre now. Don't get me wrong it isn't the worst but fucking hell it has lost some character.

Me an all. Taught to swim at Park Hill baths by a man who was like an army PT instructor - wish I could remember his name. Still not put to good use the art of rescuing a wooden brick dressed in my pyjamas.
