Not seen the below photo before. Will try to identify the players and the year

I can count 6 different shirts in that photo!

SUFC, 100 years ahead of their time, invented recycling before the word became fashionable.

And if anyone ever comes across a beer that tastes like Wards, please let me know

Fat Cat had a Vaux Bitter extremely similar but was a couple of years ago so not sure it features regularly. Mebbe worth a punt.
The Barman said Vaux took over Wards so not surprising they had the recipe I guess. Anyway it's the closest I have ever tasted and it appears they may still Brew it

My first memory was as a Kid scooping the froth off my Grandad's favourite Wards Bitter.Delightful:)

It's a fairly common Sheffield name that doesn't get much currency elsewhere. It's like Joe and Jarvis Cocker being completely unrelated to each other.
Nice analogy - however, I struggle to believe musically, they're from the same planet, let alone city.

Now that really does take me back in time.

Do you remember the posters on the walls. Larger poster predominately red, advertising the forthcoming home first team matches and smaller white ones advertising the next Central league match.

Do you know what year this was taken? Can't make out the car registration number. Flats in the background may give a clue.

Behind the wall was the indoor cricket pavilion. Used to go there in the mid 1960's for the Young Blades Club.
I can't recall that building on the left hand side of Cherry Street just inside the ground.

Can almost smell the timber coming from Arnold Laver's.

What a great picture. Do you know the year it was taken? My guess is early 1970s. On the left, the posters were of forthcoming fixtures, and also used for advertising films on at the cinema. Always remember seeing one for "Jaws" (1975?) on there.

Not sure, I would guess at 1969, might be a year or two out

Totally forgotten about the house on the left, was it some sort of caretakers house?,it's to close to the road to be part of the old Pavillion isn't it?

Yes, definitely too close to the road to be the Pavilion. The Pavilion was set back from the road. You can see the house here.

Love these posters ever since I started following football properly in January 1970 and every time my dad would drive to Sheffield I would always look for these posters at the top of Meersbrook (Chesterfield Road- near where Homebase is now) to see who the Blades were playing against in their next home game. Our poster would always be top of the billboard and Wendy's would be at the bottom. Would love to see a photo of it
