Agree , looks like the kid who deliberately forgot his PE kit only for the PE teacher to pull out a pair cerise pink furry ones massively over or undersized on to act as an adequate replacement for the 'forgotten' itemsA rather memorable day/match,but pull your shorts down a bit Jamie
And if anyone ever comes across a beer that tastes like Wards, please let me know
Walter Hoyland's profile in SUFC's Who's Who doesnt state that he is related to Tommy/Jamie

Nice analogy - however, I struggle to believe musically, they're from the same planet, let alone city. It's a fairly common Sheffield name that doesn't get much currency elsewhere. It's like Joe and Jarvis Cocker being completely unrelated to each other.
Eh?Are you sure that is even at United?
Yes. Below is in 1904

Agreed. Think he would have struggled as a wing-back, though!View attachment 27267
On the back cover of Charles Buchan's Football Monthly July 1962
One of the best captains of Sheffield United in my lifetime.
What a great picture. Do you know the year it was taken? My guess is early 1970s. On the left, the posters were of forthcoming fixtures, and also used for advertising films on at the cinema. Always remember seeing one for "Jaws" (1975?) on there.

Used to love that paper
Now that really does take me back in time.
Do you remember the posters on the walls. Larger poster predominately red, advertising the forthcoming home first team matches .
