We won 4-3. We wore white shorts. Jimmy Hagan was West Brom's manager at the time. Two weeks later the BLUT was first used by spectators in the 2-0 win against Sunderland (we carried on wearing the "lucky" white shorts for home games until December. White shorts were used for all home games the following season except the last one)

Bert still has that book and he immediately recognised the Jack Charlton photo.

Wow thanks SEB, fantastic photo! Yeah she was a heavy sleeper so there may have been a spark of truth in it but it's hard to believe anyone could sleep through that lot. Mind you she was only 19 so there might have been a few gin n limes or halves of Stones involved :D

I had that book and I think the one after...must have warn the print off them when I was a kid...Remember saving the Park Drive packets and picking them up off the street, although my uncle used to send off for them...must have nearly smoked himself to death.

Probably had this before, so apologies.
Alan Clarke taking a shot [1973?]. Blades R to L: Woody, Salmons?, John Flynn, Colquhoun, Jim Brown, who's on the far left?

Easter Monday 1974. Two days earlier coming back home from the 4-1 defeat at Derby I told my dad I didn't want to go to L**ds because I feared another thrashing as L**ds were close to clinching the League title.

I was wrong, the game ended in a 0-0 draw!

Correction. Best was in his Man U shirt. Bert's memory has just had a kick up the arse.

Name the opposition.
You give in too easily! Think a bit longer!...
Nickname is The Bluebirds
Cardiff City, of course! (11th Feb 1989)

My 1st thought was Portsmouth,but the stand we can see doesn't tally,then I thought Readings old ground,then I realised I don't know

Those entrances to the right of the photo, corner of Bramall Lane and Cherry Street was the my introduction to BDTBL for a first team game. Coming through the entrance onto the cricket terracing and seeing the massed Shoreham Kop - I was hooked.

I'd been to Central League matches but had never seen the kop full.

In between the turnstiles and those entrances was a concourse. No stupid shenanigans in them days on that concourse.
