Is that John McPhail hidden partly by the post?

Easter Monday 1974. Two days earlier coming back home from the 4-1 defeat at Derby I told my dad I didn't want to go to L**ds because I feared another thrashing as L**ds were close to clinching the League title.

I was wrong, the game ended in a 0-0 draw!
Then we played them at home the following night and lost 0-2

Albert Cox. I worked in the same team as his daughter (she retired about 6 years ago). My dad recalled Stan Matthews "selling him the dummy" at the Lane and Cox bumped into a corner flag, picked it up and threw it down in a rage

Lovely story Mr Silent

Wonderful stuff. 40,000 at The Lane, United top of the league and Currie is rated 9/10. It will never get better than that.....ever.

And some get excited about winning the 3rd division.

Edit:

And just as I read out aloud "and Currie is rated 9/10" Sharpe equalizes. :)
