Watching Harry's Game and noticed Brian Potter was moonlighting as a Daily Mirror sports journalist.View attachment 156697
I watched the Harry's game other day on YouTube, some of the interviews are quite cringe, these two for one start going on about when we got hammered at Oxford, then they had some no mark boxer on who didn't like football? Also, they showed our annihilation defeats at WHU, Leeds n Oxford, and didn't show the great Oldham away win?

Sadly the last group of players to bring home the FA Cup or any silverware of significance, 1925, but a magnificent photo still. Believe the plain shirts are red and used in earlier rounds of the cup.1924-25 March 28 Stamford Bridge FAC SemiFinal V Southhampton W2-0 HT1-0 Parker og Tunstall Ut...jpgSemi Final, March 28, Stamford Bridge, beat Southampton 2-0.

Any ideas on dates for these press photos?

Amazingly Puskas was still playing for Real Madrid in 1965 with a belly that size

Thanks for that, but feel a sad finally, the game was almost choreographed, for a player of Matthews ability.
I saw Matthews, .aged thirty eight, first on 29th Aug '53 at the Lane, giving eighteen year old Graham Shaw something to think about.
One incident, gave Graham a yard start and beat him to the ball with room to spare. Blades lost 3-4 being down 1-3 HT, Hagan, Wragg-2.
Also saw him play in the Derek Dooley 'Trust Fund' Floodlit Match 9th March '55Derek Dooley Trust Fund Match programme.jpg
