March 1976, lost 4-0, John McGeady broke his leg. When my dad returned to his car after the match, he found that his car were broken into and had the car radio stolen!
Yes, a week after Man City had beaten Newcastle in the finalThat looks like the League Cup.

The 2nd time in 4 years we applauded the league cup winners, after Stoke 1972

Star player cleaning his own boots?
Arsenal 5 Blades 3, January 15th 1949Trying to match this press photo with the actual game. I believe it is from the 1948-49 season. Can anyone help with the line up pictured here?
Obviously I know a fair few (the more obvious ones!) but uncertain about others.
Love the away kit, presumably white with red collars and a red pocket?
Cheers
Fantastic, I knew I could rely on you, Silent.Arsenal 5 Blades 3, January 15th 1949
Back row l to r; Ernest Jackson, Graham Bailey (still alive, now 102), Jack Smith, Harry Latham, Albert Cox, Joe Cockroft (signed for us aged 37 from Wendy. Just reading about him online: https://www.htsa-web.com/post/heritage-an-interview-with-town-s-oldest-living-playerGraham Bailey (still alive, now 102),

Phil Parker next to peter shilton and Gerry Francis in middleI’m never any good at spotting old footballers, but I‘ll try. Alan Clarke talking to TC, Malcolm Mc Donald front row, second right. Peter Shilton back row, fifth right and Frank Worthington back row, fourth left. Any, or all of those may be wrongl
I think so
Correct assumption on the away shirt colours. Eye witnessed this shirt as a kid but cannot recall any game, possibly CC matches.Trying to match this press photo with the actual game. I believe it is from the 1948-49 season. Can anyone help with the line up pictured here?

Top photos HH and all part of the clubs history but cannot help but think, wilderness years, in living memory.
I remember getting to the ground about 5 to 3 and still queues of Blades at the turnstiles outside. Me and 3 mates decided to go into the Bradford side of the terrace - not the best decision in the world ! Anyway there was a brief tussle and mainly a stand off until the pitch side coppers let us jump over the perimeter fencing and round into the Blades side. Oh to be 18 again !!
