Like the one of Suggs on Pinstone Street. What an emporium that was! Could spend hours in there looking at footy boots and trainers. Then off to Wilson Pecks to look at guitars. And downstairs in the basement, or off to Phillip Canns on Chapel walk, to look at records. Never bought anything but liked looking.!

So it's your fault they all went to the wall? ;)

We did a lot of looking when we were kids I guess, so probably my fault as well.

Great night out. I'm suprised I still remember it.

I remember the Fiesta advertising a one night only show by the Chi- Lites. Really wanted to see them even though the tickets were more expensive than normal. Turned up, they'd "cancelled" so the bloody Brotherhood of Man were on instead. FFS. "No refunds"

Can anyone settle an argument, when was the Novotel built at the end of Arundel Gate?

Strangely I remember all in the photo other than where the building stood where the Hubs ...aka National museum of Popular music is now located
Davy's bakery. What were the shops, on left, bottom of Howard St?

Found them. Must be just after they demolished the Davy factory.

Thanks for that, must, must have seen the shops hundreds of times, used to walk up Howard St to Leopold St for 60 bus to school, early 50's There also used to be a café on Sheaf St, opposite the train station, who's roof covered the pavement. Good place to meet school mates on wet mornings after the no.60 was extended to train station.

That’s just reminded me, I used to go to a barbers just round the corner near the bottom of Howard St. It was on the left hand side as you go up hill but I have no idea what it was called.
Cannot remember one at the bottom of Howard St but there was "Fred,s" at the top on left past Walker and Halls which was on right.
