There was a shop called Doncaster Sales and Exchange on Cleveland St. ?.... very similar looking, I used to get bits of out of date Hornby Train Set from there, 30p for a 5 bits of curved track etc. I think my trumpet though came from a shop called Doncaster Rifles ?? on Copley Rd. which was primarily a second-hand Gun shop.

I flipping loved shops like that, I think the excitement of finding something interesting that you weren't even looking for was the pull - eBay® has replaced them and it is fantastic for re-cycling stuff but you already know what you're looking for online which is the difference, you still do get the randomness- say of a book by an author you would never look for in Waterstones - in charity shops but they are nothing like the cornucopia these second-hand shops used to be.

If you took a picture there same time same date there would be dereliction ,1 bus ,no cars and about 3 people. Fucking idiots.

Yep ,sadly gone about 10 years ago due to lack of numbers and now becoming a huge block of flats One of my earliest memories coming out of Denby St nursery and walking home on bramall lane or getting picked up in my dads motorbike and side car ,was never going to support anyone else was I.
