Not bothered about Europe

We've never in our entire history played in European competition unless you count the Anglo Italian Cup! So, if there's a chance that we can make it then we should be going to finish as high as we can and if that's a European place then even better. What would we rather the team do? Slack of post 40 -50 points to finish 10th?!

My experience of European football has been limited to watching the bigger teams play on ITV, when it was on ITV but I did enjoy school the next day though when Kaiserslaughten beat the Wendies and they were whining about David Hirst getting sent off! Quite frankly, I would wet myself if the Champions League music came on at the Lane!

Not too bothered either, would much rather work on becoming an established prem team.

To be fair you may have a point , it could distract our premiership football , it fact it probably would, but it’s the money it would bring in , and that’s what it’s all about!

Champions League yes but not sure about the Europa League. Thursday night games will mean a fair chunk of our league matches will be moved to Sunday.

Each to their own but I couldn’t disagree more with the OP.

I’m approaching half a century and have never seen our team anywhere near qualifying for a European tournament. All this it could ruin the following season is all ifs buts and maybes. Whose to say it won’t make us even stronger for the experience?

It would be an absolute dream if we qualified and I wouldn’t care what country, myself and hundreds if not thousands of others would be there.

Lads and lasses the turnaround in our great club had been remarkable. We are dining at the top table and as fans we need to start thinking ambitiously rather than the old “ yeah but what if it ruins our next season” what if we pick up a couple of injuries in Europe” etc etc.

You know what, injuries happen. Let’s not be defeatist in our opinions

Agree there could be negatives for us being in Europe but I’d still risk it because the positives far outweigh the negatives. For one...it makes Sander Berge happy and makes us more attractive to prospective targets and raises our profile for investment and improving further.

It’s like Brentford or Millwall fans saying they don’t want to be promoted because they’ve seen how Norwich and Villa have struggled and they are convinced they are not ready for the PL just yet.

You often find that there’s never a perfect time. You take the opportunity as soon as it comes.

I was speaking about this with a Spurs fan earlier (who is eyeing up 4th). My automatic response is that I don;t want to be in Europe as I think we'd struggle with that and the league. However, it might be our only chance to ever be in Europe so it would be foolish to not want it.

Couldn't care less about qualifying for Europe. Second season in the Prem is always tough. Much prefer us to push on without the distraction of Thursday night games in Slovakia, injuries, suspensions etc.
I am the same as you wolves have a better team than us and at the start of the season they really struggled .We need to cement our self's in the prem first

I remember when the pigs were saying that they didn’t want to go up from the Championship via the play offs as they were going to piss the league title the following season....

They never went up

Personally I’d love a season in the champions league with this squad. Billy against Europe’s best

Totally see how some have this point of view BUT if we were to get into the European places then we'll have earnt quite a few million more than if we finished say 8th/9th as i'm sure there's about 7 or 8 million for each place higher you finish in The Prem so we'd have more money to proof the squad for exactly the sort of schedule we'd face.

This and the fact that we've never played in Europe means it would be one hell of another notch on the CW journey.

Were you one of the ones saying that you'd prefer us to be competitive in the championship than be a Premier League club?

Football, like any sport is something you play to win at. If you don't want to sit at the top table, is there any point even turning up?
