No comment from manager on yesterday's signings?

I'm not convinced that any of these signings have been specifically chosen by Selles. It's just a feeling I get.
Maybe that's why he's not commented on them.

5 games I reckon, then P45 awaits
Five more games?! Chuffing hope not. If he loses to Ipswich then that's five defeats out of five plus the cup match, I think that's worthy of sacking if he loses Ipswich too unless there's some signs of improvement and they need to be far more than what we e currently seen.

Whilst international break is upon us, apart from players involved in those, where are the rest of the squad training? I can't be bothered to trawl around after travelling today but nothing on official website so Shirecliffe, rather than a warm weather bonding with the copious influx to the squad.

Not too bothered if Selles doesn’t talk about his new signings, as half the time I can’t tell what he’s saying anyway 😁

"Chiedozie is a player I have monitored for a long time and he's been my number one target all summer. I am delighted to finally get him but it's just a shame that I'll never get to work with him..."

Might be best just to say nothing instead

I've been thinking...........................

If Tanganga's first name was William, we could have Bill and Ben in defence.

I am going to bed.

I am wondering who has overseen all these signing? Is it Selless and if not who have the owners got to advise them as they clearly know very little about football and seem to have abandoned their stated method of using AI. Frankly I think you could recruit any number of players but the problem lies with the manager who has no idea how to get them playing as a team.

We needed defenders, wingers, proven striker and a midfielder. As well as moving on dead wood. That’s exactly what we’ve done. Now people are complaining that they don’t know who oversaw the signings? It’s so tiring supporting this club sometimes. Yes, Selles is a useless cunt, but we’ve signed exactly what everyone was saying we needed. Should every future signing be run past this forum before they sign? Just so everyone is happy?

Selles. I want fast vibrant exciting attacking players in to assist my flamenco style football.

Recruitment Team. Fuck off. The way you set up, you need a defence. We got a BOGOF deal that might help you keep your job a few more weeks.

I understand why people would be unhappy but feels like there's quite a few people that would actually be happy if we lost against Ipswich and disappointed if we won.

It looks to me, like, some of the new players, will inevitably displace, the previous signings Selles definitely had a hand in ie Bindon, and Barry!
Possibly indicating that the new owners have already lost patience, and someone else is now pulling the strings,or just wishful thinking on my part.

Maybe, or if we had had a decent start to the season that exact same situation would be described as good squad building and having genuine competition for places in the 1st 11 is healthy.

I'm just hopeful that they are learning as they go. They started off the window with some hopeful punts on some foreign targets and finished the window with some players who on paper make our squad strong. Even shipped one of the experiments out to make room for a better player.

Well, I'm going to put my cards firmly on the table and say that we'll actually show a marked improvement at Ipswich and come away with something. I am a gullible so-and-so though, so who knows?

As the sample size of so small I don’t tend to judge us too much on results.

However you would expect performances to be decent and gradually improve.
Wilder used to sometimes say, you can’t legislate for results, sometimes your team is fated to lose due to bad luck in a one-off game.
However Wilder used to say, he can control performances and he always expects a good performance with plenty of effort and character, every game.

My issue with Selles isn’t so much the results…..it’s the formation and performances.
It really reminds me of when we had David Weir, remember him going on about his football principles playing football “the right way”.
He talked about everyone being comfortable on the ball, with defenders playing it out from the back and the whole team keeping possession.
Now we have Selles talking about his principles of attacking football, every player being fit, working hard with a high press.

Both managers saw their tactics instantly fail but both continue to use the same failed tactics…..sticking to their principles.

We bought quite a few central defenders in the last day of the transfer window.
Surely this must mean we are trying out a back 5, using 3 central defenders and 2 wingbacks.

You assume Selles must have some intelligence, he now has the international break to study why he is failing and to come up with something new.
So I reckon we’ll have 3 central defenders against Ipswich and I’m expecting our best performances of the season.
Would be so United….if we play really well but concede a controversial late penalty and only draw 1-1.
Then we have half the fanbase being optimistic, praising Selles for his tactical change….the other half saying it’s still only 1 point….get rid.
We need to be making progress, otherwise I expect Selles to be gone very soon.

Or maybe Selles himself saw that they weren't going to be able to do the job he wanted, so he's tried to find better players?
(oops - meant to be a reply to post #80

Paying off Wilder and Selles within a few months of each other will be expensive.I am sure they will be trying to reach a settlement with Selles,we won’t hear anything until it’s resolved.

Agree, he’s actually a very impressive talker regards words. Reminds me of Pep Guardiola, appears to be an expert on tactics wanting to play football “the right way

thought the right way was winning and accumulating points

this run of Eurovision song contest nil pwants is disturbing
