I don't share your concern here. We've always rushed these things and been rightly criticsised. Now we'e tking few weeks. I don't think there's a sweet spot of a week or anything where it's just right. There is no way of knowing what restrictions are in place with various managers clubs / contracts, or how soon we can sit around the table with them all and assess their beliefs, or how long a manager might like to consdier his options.
All 6 on any shortlist, if they want the job, will be doing their homework about what's required and what they'd do about it. In fact that information will form part of any interview process. There's no reason why the new manager couldn't hit the ground running.
The only "problem" I see is that we have a purple patch for a few games and appoint Carver. I've never understood appointing unproven managers after a few results in a caretaker role. He might be the next best thing, but Backwell appeared so after a much longer trial period.
