Either way, we seemed to have a very strong window or two during Des Taylor's time here (certainly that was the impression at the time).. and it did make me ponder on the impact a DoF could have on the club.

It's not a silver bullet, the ground has to be laid and the appointment needs to be the right one.. but I would like to see it explored. For the club to evolve, we do need to move away from the over reliance on Wilder and his pals.

I dont mind us spending a couple of £100k on players who may or may not come good. But this one seems crazy and then we had an opportunity to offload and we missed it because of a clause being too high.

If they had made his move permanent, for that fee I think the Italians would have been sending their board for psychological testing

Do we know what we paid for him? Maybe, scarily, the clause represented a modest profit on our outlay. 😬
