Traianos Dellas scored a famous 30-yard wonder goal for Sheffield United during a 1999 match against Portsmouth at Bramall Lane, securing a late 2-1 victory for the Blades.Portsmouth I think it was?
Yes along with ukaki and the other winger whose name i can’t spellWhich of the other AI lads are due back or still around? The Bulgarian RB is still at the club isn't he?
You mean Isiah Whosenameicantspell ?Yes along with ukaki and the other winger whose name i can’t spell
In which case that’d show the experiment worked really.I was wondering if we sell Zlatter to Genoa at the agreed deal will we have just about come out level on the AI experiment?
He's played three times for Genoa, there's not a chance they pay the £4.75M fee to make it permanent. Italian clubs are stingy and have no dough, they'll try to renegotiate and offer something like £1M paid in instalments over years.
Perhaps to indicate that they're willing to make the deal permanent?Maybe so but why agree a deal with the option at that price?
As with many other Summer signings, we were totally mugged off and are now stuck with these contracts.
You can 100% add McGuiness and Chong to the list (4 year deals!!).
And Matos. Sigh…As with many other Summer signings, we were totally mugged off and are now stuck with these contracts.

I must have missed the part where it was anyone else's fault for agreeing those contracts but our own
Bettis, Allen & Hoyland were all part of the decision making process and are somehow still in gainful employment by the club.Yep. Absolutely awful business.
We had our pants pulled down through our own naivety.
For the aforementioned signings, the issue was presumably the Owners / James Bord.

We could save a fortune binning the three of them off and bringing in actually talent. Same for that contract manager idiot whose name I can’t remember.
What about the recruitment team who are still here? Did they have nothing to do with it and if not why are they employed? And if so why are they still employed?Yep. Absolutely awful business.

I think there’s enough people involved to put their hands up and say ‘are we sure this is a good idea?’.You think Bettis was involved in suggesting players when Bord was around and Hoyland was scouting? Or that Carl S was to blame for those selections despite his job being simply to agree contracts? Presumably with the parameters set by his employers.

If they’re just Yes men there to do the paperwork then let’s get them sacked and bring in some graduates to do it.
Bring back Des Taylor, I say.The idea that shiny arses should override football men and probably the owner on the quality of signings doesn’t really sit well. The owners should be looking at getting rid of those who actually find/suggest, chase substandard players and, as we have seen, should do it via a DoF* or whatever to provide the knowledge they clearly don’t have.
*not a dig at Wilder before anyone gets a tummy ache.
The club appointed Bettis to the board AFTER the whole farce so perhaps what he said in that period came to be...I think there’s enough people involved to put their hands up and say ‘are we sure this is a good idea?’.

Chong ? Our only player at the World Cup and who set up the only goal in the WC history of Curaçao ? He should have had a 6 year contract. As with many other Summer signings, we were totally mugged off and are now stuck with these contracts.

Cant see that its been posted already:
Bring back Des Taylor, I say.
Strange that he disappeared, was he the poker players man that alleges he got shafted in the buyout?
He seemed to have a really good influence.
