Nick Tryon RIP

This is sad news. I worked with Nick for a year or so at Norfolk Park Housing Office nearly twenty years ago. A remarkable man. In more recent years I worked in jobcentres, and often had Nick come to mind when the person opposite me would tell me they couldn't possibly work for some reason or other. Nick let nothing stand in his way and achieved a huge amount. RIP Nick and my condolences to his family and friends.

So very sad to hear about this. Nick was remarkable man who coped with adversity with a smile and optimism. He was one of three brothers and suffered with thalidomide from birth.
Like his father Dick, he loved both football and cricket and living next door but one to him in Whirlow for over 10 years and going to some games with him and his dad as a young man, I witnessed his remarkable fortitude and passion for life despite his massive disabilities.
Nick is a true hero in every sense of the word and the club really ought to honour him for his remarkable dedication and support for close on 50 years.
He never moaned and accepted his lot in life .
A very very sad day indeed.
Rest in peace Nick and condolences to your brothers and their families.

Sad news. I hope the club does something to remember all those lost not just from the pandemic but any reason when capacity is full again. It's so sad to think a fair amount of blades left the ground in march 2020 never to return.

Really sad to hear this news. First met Nicky ( as I knew him) early 80s. He would frequent the same discos that I did at Bramall Lane and we used to laugh and joke and he was always saying I was married to the wrong man and that I should have married him.
ive seen him over the years both at away matches and at Bramall Lane, the most recent being possibly 3 years ago when I spotted him in the John Steet stand and had a chat with him.
My most memorable memory of him tho is the Leicester game. Walking back to the coaches of which there just seemed to be miles and miles of them and spotted Nicky literally bouncing up the road. For some reason he hadn’t got his chair with him and he was literally bouncing. What a day that was and what a remarkable person he was.
RIP you special man

I didn't know Nick but like many I saw him a lot, and he appeared to be a brave and courageous bloke who "just got on with it".

We all whine and moan about our lot in life and sometimes should stand back and count our blessings.I used to work with an old geezer.He was born with a gammy arm and a gammy leg.Never once did I see him complain.I asked him why he was always so cheerful.He replied "There's always someone worse off".People like him and Nick are shining beacons of humanity at its best.

i was sad to hear this, i knew him well because ive been going with my disabled uncle for nearly 20yrs so i seen many times & chatted with multiple times. loved his enthusiasm despite his disabilties.
