Taking Selle's out of the equation as he was doomed to fail given the squad he had to work with from Bristol City match onwards.
The mistakes they made starting with Selle's given the job without being interviewed for it .
It's an unbeleavable list.of mistakes made by wealthy experienced ( not football) businessmen.
How do they take on a big club with
no real footie knowledge and expect to be a success unbeleavable nievity.
Does take some beleaving they had no real advice on how to take things forward successfully.

They want the club as a plaything. Where would the fun be in buying a club to play around with, but get someone else in to give you advice. That would be a very odd move. As always, lots of us use "bloke on the street" logic. Wealthy people don't have to think "like us".

It’s like they looked from outside at ‘the Brighton/Brentford model’ and thought that’s the way to do it but with no real knowledge of what is required to get to that stage.

I think ‘non-football’ people is key as we’ve seen with one mistake after the other and finally running back to safety blanket of Wilder.

Lol @ Big club analogy, thought was only for the S6 🐖🐖

It was the aim, based upon 100mill to buy and 10 mill in Jan to secure.

Now, a manager and staff to pay off. Lets be generous and say 50% of the squad of insufficient quality ( that's being polite ) to mount a challenge and with a market value of £0. A manager in situ they didnt fancy in the first place to both placate the fans and save on extra contracts. Investment in better , fit , players for a promotion challenge, all of whom will cost either/both significant fees / contracts and all out of their own pockets as the parachute monies have already gone. Oh and the club loses money too.

How much are they prepared to put in to do all that? Going to need around same as initial purchase price as a reasonable estimate?

Coke and Hookers look a better bet.

Yeah cos 6 losses on the spin shows real acumen 🤣

So the aim isn’t to get to the PL, stay there a bit and sell at a huge profit? It’s just that they’re bored with hookers and coke and needed new thrills?

I’m a million miles away from a conspiracy theorist, but I’m starting to think they purchased the club as a disposable a test site for some new AI software.

What’s 10M or a 100M lost if you use that knowledge to become trillionaires.

One thing I am sure of, they don’t give a shit about the club.

Whilst I don’t disagree…. There are already countless discussions with the same subject

This is an incredibly common ‘tech bro’ way of thinking. “Well, how hard can it be?” approach to everything that seems them throwing bags of cash at bad ideas until they can flog it to someone else.

Problem is that American owners may have invested - but the track record of good decision making on football decisions is pretty bad. Look at Birmingham City - sacked John Eustace when they were around play offs & appointed Wayne Rooney=Relegation. Yes they have come back up but another example of a shocking football decision.

But, appointing Wayne Rooney is a superb plaything owners move. When they're up and about, moving and shaking, a-groovin and a-networking and a-dick swinging...

Hey. Did you hear? I've got an English Soccer Club now.

Who's the Coach?

(Checks notes) John Eustace...

(Gazes into middle distance...)

100%. Modern owners collect clubs and players like we used to collect footy Panini stickers with a "got, not got" mentality. Playthings, that's all clubs are, to relieve their boredom.
I'm out with the missus earlier and she says like shes reading off her phone, " oh my God, Sheffield United confirm that Chris Wilder has left the club".

I burst out laughing, because it could so easily be true with this lot. No idea what is coming next.

Don't think this is right, nobody in their right mind likes losing 100 million PLUS regardless of their background wealth. I think they will learn fast. Stage 1 now is Chris starts to turn the tide Stage 2 will be sensible signings in Jan to guarantee Champ survival.

With a year plus behind them next season their learnings will help avoid all the nonsense this start has been.

Next season early transfer business, proper pre season and hopefully a much better start. I actually choose to believe they are decent folks and all this has slapped them on their arses big time. They have been silly once but they definitely are not stupid - no rinse and repeat, much better going forward.
