The new owners are letting us down!

Your new threads are increasingly "look at me, look at me" types. One of our owners is a professional poker player - you don't show your hand and you constantly try to throw your opponents a curve ball. I bet he wishes he was playing you!
Got to concur with this. The constant new William Carey threads are tiresome. The school holidays won't help because he will have even more time on his hands. 😃

None of us really know what's going on in the back ground. Stop being a bedwetter and wait until the end of the window and then you can judge the owners commitment.

It's a strange one for me im hoping these AI unknown signings become regular starters and it's not wasted effort and energy. I want Blades to win every game like any other fan. Let's wait and see how Selles looks to change our style and how we get on. Too early to be negative at this point for me.

Honestly we might aswel have finished a point above relegation it's the same outcome. Burnley probably worked on a lower budget and managed to go up and obviously Sunderland worked on a tiny budget comparing. Officially we managed to be abit better than Luton by not getting relegated but keep on kissing the arse of hamface from what he did 6+ years ago
Hamface - ffs

Are you suggesting that the Sage of S2 4SU, is not seen as a scholar of great standing?

Oh Sean, don't be so modest!

I'll just take the dog apostrophe apology, and leave it there then.

Probably for the best so the “New Owners are shit” brigade don’t feel left out for even one day.

Interesting snippet form a pal who knows Mr W. He didn't know anything about the sacking until he got the call. He had been planning his new loans, offering contracts etc. He had a relatively low buy out on his contract - they decided to trigger that. But they left on good terms - and they have said they aren't against working with him again in the future.

(Don't shoot the messenger. If you want to shoot my pal, let me know and I'll forward his deets).

They knew in April

I have to laugh that people are criticising the intent of the new owners due to how much we have spent so far, when we didn't seem to spend a penny of the Prince's money.

When we got promoted from League One we were bankrolled by the sales of Calvert-Lewin, Adams and Whitehead.

When we got promoted to the Premier League and spent loads that summer, we spent parachute payment money early. Same the following season.

Last summer we were bankrolled by the sales of Traore, Trusty and Osula.

How much of the Prince's money did we actually spend?

In my eyes the new owners have done no worse so far. We've also not been rushing to bring in new players as Selles needed time to assess the entire squad before making decisions on where he needs to strengthen.

Caceres and Ukaki have done well in pre-season against League One and League Two opponents. If they don't appear capable of playing in the Championship after a few games they'll go out on loan and Selles will need to bring in short term replacements for them for this season.

The fantasy that PA didn’t spend much again. Which the accounts don’t bear out.

You could argue that his financial input enabled our signings and player sales and parachute monies paid the bills and covered the losses, but that would be just as ridiculous a claim.

I am looking forward to next season.

I have lowered my expectations, that's because I am not a piggy fan and I am able to do so, and not big us up unnecessarily, as I'm pretty sure we won't be romping this league this season.

However, I think we actually have some fantastic talent already that can achieve a lot and will have a good go at it! We don't need a modern day James Beattie on big £££, not at the moment anyways as I see it.

I was under the impression that he only spent the club's money and didn't spend any of his own. I'll stand corrected if that's not the case.

Is this tarmacing of the SS carpark the first stage of this ....exciting times.

Ssshhhhh! Don't mention the SS Car Park, for crying out loud. You'll have two thirds of Shoutbox turning up on your front lawn shrieking "Nazi scum, off our forum, Nazi scum, off our forum...." etc etc

Think the club needs to be spending a percentage of its money on the structure of the club. Ex new pitch, safe standing, training ground academy etc. A firm foundation. We won’t be relegated, maybe finish play offs.
There is no way we have the structure for Premier league survival.
I guess we have a number of commentators on this site, with the experience of running businesses. I guess they will be realistic on what and how it can be achieved without going down the route of our neigbours at Hillsborough

And definitely don't mention the Eagle's Lair bar, or the Hitler Youth Hotel.

I may have made a rookie error there.

The New Avengers was on ITV 4 the other night and I threw my shoes at the telly. It’s the same thing right?

And since the new porn rules I’ve had to make do with Joanna Lumley…
Make do with Joanna Lumley you should be so lucky, cheeky bastard. Some of us older ones still remember Diana Rigg (RIP) Say what you like about United leave Mrs Peel and Purdey out of it.
