I'm just playing devils advocate, plus I'm a huge Sharp fan.
Other that Abraham, Maupay is probably my top (relatively) realistic target! He's quality and exactly the sort of singing we need to be making.
I don’t think Dowell is good enough currently. He potentially could be in the future. Has Jota played no 10 before? I thought he was a winger? If Carlsberg did transfer windows...Maupay, McBurnie and one of Jota or Dowell will do for.me.
That's not unrealistic.for a premiership team. 40m or thereabouts would seal the deals and given Hogan and Madine have gone back its the type of.money we need to spend.
Importantly if the worst happened and we went straight back down they'd all be excellent in the championship.
You think we need nine new players ?I don’t think Dowell is good enough currently. He potentially could be in the future. Has Jota played no 10 before? I thought he was a winger?
If we spend £40m on those 3, I suspect that would be the entire budget gone. How do we pay for the other 5/6 players that we need?

We've only got 2 strikers who will be here next season, we need at least 2 more. What are you thinking we should do? Loans? Free transfers?
Championship clubs are paying over £10m for strikers, surely £20m for a Premier League club isn't excessive?
So was Duff. In fact he played on the wing for us at first before Tufty converted him. You could easily see Jota doing the same, but quicker.
Your second paragraph is the only truth in your post which as ever is designed to get a reaction from fellow United fansJust leave it lads
£15 - £20 million is more than our fans brains can compute
Callum Wilson, Josh King, David Brooks, Jordan Ibe, Troy Deenay, all stepped up to the Premier League with no previous track record, as have many others, and so will many more.
We'll miss out on every single one of them if our management team think like our fans.
And we'll end up with old players who have played in the Prem before but never done anything sparkling
Players like Austin and Long.
When these players give us 5 goals next season our fans will rejoice in the fact that we didn't waste money, when in reality they will have cost us a fortune
A proper little joy bringer aren't you. A little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.Just leave it lads

It's a win-win for him if the club don't spend hundreds of millions on players he's got the entire season ( at least ) to slag the club and the supporters ambitionA proper little joy bringer aren't you. A little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
FFS cheer up, and try and enjoy these amazing days to be a blade.
YesYou think we need nine new players ?
I think there will be 2 or 3 loans and a number of frees, likely to be experienced premier league players at the end of their contracts (for example players like Cahill and Jags)
I understand peoples view about the budget but we are in a whole new ball game here and we will need to spend serious money. Our income will go up 10 fold in the premier league so it not unrealistic to think we can and will spend like never before.

So you mean one back up players and does that Cardiff figure include the sala fee ,seems incredibly lowly soYes
GK (Maybe 2) Henderson (Moore)
LWB Johnson
LCB Bryan
RCB Cranie
CM Coutts
CAM Dowell
ST Hogan
ST Madine
ST Washington
Total summer transfer spend for newly promoted clubs 2018/19
Cardiff - £28.7m
Wolves - £69.8m (£64.1m NET)
Fulham - (£72m (£68m NET)
Huddersfield, Watford, Spurs, Palace & Burnley,All spent under £30m.
How much do you think we will spend on transfer fees in the summer window?
I know Duffy was primarily a winger before hand but he had the attributes of a CAM, similar to Juan Mata. I haven't really seen Jota play too much so I wondered if he had attributes for him to play in the middle.

No, it is only what was spent on transfer fees in the summer window. So you mean one back up players and does that Cardiff figure include the sala fee ,seems incredibly lowly so
I could understand this nonsense if wilder hadn’t specifically said he is targeting young, hungry, athletic anved technical players... he has literally said that’s what he’s looking at.
I also find it unbelievable after the success under the radar signings (the likes of cranie, mcgoldrick, Wright, Clarke etc have had) that wilder hasn’t earned the trust of all the fans to do as he sees best - if we did get long and Austin it will be because they can do what is required and I’d back wilder to get something significant out of them.
Lee Evans - valuable signing who stopped the slide after Coutts’ injury. Sold for a profit. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. To play the role of contrarian; Carruthers, Evans, Evans, Hanson, Heneghan, Holmes, Hussey, Lafferty, Lavery, Leonard, Lundstram, Thomas and Wilson.

Personally I'd like to get behind the greatest manager and most exciting team we've ever had but life would be very boring if we were all the same wouldn't it ?

I just think we need to look at reality. Maupay is out of our reach, however much we look through blade spectacles, we are probably one of the least attractive propositions in comparison to established PL teams who are reportedly in for him...
Money talks, but everyone has money in this league (we probably have the least actually) and everyone is looking for a striker to bang in goals. I cannot see for the life of me Wilder spending £20 million on 1 player.
However, I can see Wilder buying McBurnie plus another striker (probs equal to the cost of Maupay in transfer fees!)... instead of relying on 1 expensive player who could well go off injured in our 1st game, or could be shite?
If Maupay is worth £20m then I’d expect more established PL clubs to come in for him. And if you were him, and you had the choice of Palace, Bournemouth, Southampton and us, where would you go?I just think we need to look at reality. Brentford will always sell when their valuation is met, it’s part of their business model. The issue is how many other clubs are interested in him and what do they value him at.I can't see Brentford getting £20 million for him
They might try, but an offer from a Premier League club and they will have to sell otherwise Maupay will sulk and create a bad atmosphere

Wilder has everybodys trust.
The boardroom is a different matter.
But what I don't understand more than anything is our own fans pissing their pants about a signing that will cost a few quid.
As soon as a player gets mentioned it's "Ooooh £10 million, Oooooh £15 million"
What the fuck is wrong with everybody.
We get millions upon millions upon millions to build a squad, so who cares if a player costs more than our usual threepence ha'penny.
Yes we can. We just need to ensure our wage bill isn’t higher than the parachute payments we’ll receive if we go down.We e got money to spend but we need to be careful - it will soon be spend. Our wage bill is probably going to go up by around 20 or 30 millions. So we can’t spend 50 million plus on players imo and be safe financially if we were to come down .

That’s the problem. As it is with any player worth £20m - they have better options. We need players who are grateful to be at the Lane, not ones who think they’re doing us a favour or ‘I’ll join if you pay me more than anybody else thinks I’m worth’.
