I think there will be 2 or 3 loans and a number of frees, likely to be experienced premier league players at the end of their contracts (for example players like Cahill and Jags)

I understand peoples view about the budget but we are in a whole new ball game here and we will need to spend serious money. Our income will go up 10 fold in the premier league so it not unrealistic to think we can and will spend like never before.

I think it was originally JFH at Burton who played Duffy in that free “Zola role” as he called it.

Nigel Clough of course quickly stopped that sort of entertainment and switched Duffy back to the wing and then dropped him completely.

If Maupay is worth £20m then I’d expect more established PL clubs to come in for him. And if you were him, and you had the choice of Palace, Bournemouth, Southampton and us, where would you go?

That’s the problem. As it is with any player worth £20m - they have better options. We need players who are grateful to be at the Lane, not ones who think they’re doing us a favour or ‘I’ll join if you pay me more than anybody else thinks I’m worth’.

Brentford will always sell when their valuation is met, it’s part of their business model. The issue is how many other clubs are interested in him and what do they value him at.

I’d say by and large wilders record in bringing in nailed on first teamers and contributors is great. I recon we have had substantial contributions from at least 30%

We made money on Evans and Leonard and would probably get most back on lundstram.

Lafferty played a large part in the 100 point season so wouldn’t really class him as a miss.

There’s only really holmes and caruthers which were proper outlays tbf

We e got money to spend but we need to be careful - it will soon be spend. Our wage bill is probably going to go up by around 20 or 30 millions. So we can’t spend 50 million plus on players imo and be safe financially if we were to come down .

Yes we can. We just need to ensure our wage bill isn’t higher than the parachute payments we’ll receive if we go down.
