I'll stand to be corrected but....

Iliman is NOT eligible for Senegal in the January 2023 African Nations Championship in Algeria.

He'll be back at The Lane during that tournament.
I believe you are correct - he won't be eligible to play in the African Nations Championship in Jan 23.

He will be eligible to play in the Africa Cup of nations in January 2024. (Although I wouldn't be surprised if he's not still with us by then)

i didnt notice that, what a name 😁 . appartantly he plays for mid table side in the cypriot premier league
When I first saw it I thought it was something along the lines of A.N Other or A.Trialist while they finalised the squad. My apologies to Mr Name. Incidentally when I was much younger I really thought that A.Trialist was a real named footballer😋😋

Looking at Rothmans football yearbook in the early 1970s I chuckled at the name of this England player

I think some are underestimating the lads stock. He will get a lot more minutes and wouldn’t surprise me if he isn’t one of the first names on the team sheet very shortly for them. The lads a baller of very high magnitude.
Not sure he's first name on sheet.

Hes been called up to 4 Senegal games so far.
Played 23 mins on debut. Was an unused sub in next 2 then played 4 minutes in last app.

So it is list e...waiting for list f to come out. I'm gonna get some mileage on this even if its not that funny
it is a real list from what i understand as youll not be surprised to learn that Senegalese people dont speak or write english as their main language.

but it might be the african cup of nations squad from 18 months ago

He's not a first choice for Senegal, and they'll probably get knocked out in the group stage, so I reckon he'll just be doing a bit of light training in the sunshine and living in a posh hotel for 3 weeks 'til he has to come home. No alcohol so he can't get wrecked. Should come back nice and rested......
I understand he's teetotal anyway, but I think this sums up the next month if he's picked

got to thank BobbyDavison'sDebut for bringing it to my attention on the world cup thread. had a look & was right Ndiaye not even in the world cup squad

admittedly i dont have in depth knowledge of Senegal squad bar 1 played in England or major European clubs so really only know 6-7 of the squad. but how on earth does Ndiaye not make the world cup squad. selfishly its brilliant for us. he gets a rest & isnt put in shop window for January.

but for liman if he's not the best player in championship currently he's very close. & yet he's not deemed good enough. from what ive seen of him just cant believe he is best case scenario the 9th best attacker that Senegal have

There’s a chance that if he doesn’t get picked he might get itchy feet in January/June and want to move to the PL to make sure he gets picked for the ACON so it might be a double edged sword if it transpires he isn’t picked tomorrow.

Don’t know the bloke or his ambitions but it wouldn’t be entirely unheard of for it to lead to a player thinking that way.

Looked them all up and they are all playing football in the top flight. Only exception is Sarr.

Mane may miss the WC after getting injured playing for Bayern last night. Massive blow for Senegal if true, but it would likely improve Ndiaye’s chance of appearing. Their squad is announced on Friday.

I assume Swinton is quoting the old squad list, details of which were published in error earlier this week

That’s what I was thinking as squad not yet announced but thought he might have got a heads up from someone connected with Utd that he’s not going.
