I didn't say couldn't work with, I said did not like. Try one of fergusons autobiography and see what he think of some of his players, say Ince or Keane.

Are you saying that there are twenty players that Adkins can't work with? Is that normal? Do we really have that volume of players who aren't professional?

Ferguson shipped out the players he didn't like or he thought had poor attitudes.

Ince and Beckham being prime examples.

I'm definitely not saying that about all our players, although I certainly think it applies to a small handful.

About 4/5 weeks ago there was a kid who is at Chelsea interviewed on R5. He said he was looking at going out on loan again to non-league because every kick, every tackle counts, the intensity is so much higher than U21's footie.
The players are fighting for points, for win bonuses and for pride instead of just passing it across the back four waiting for a midfielder to find space. He said he finds U21 so boring and uninspiring.

Was suprised at the time that the press or TV didn't pick up on his comments, still I suppose most of the pundits have those EUFA badge things.
Good lad and I agree with him but I recall Baxter said similar when he left Everton.

The u-21s does need sorting out though, I heard someone on the radio the other day saying they should bring the reserves back because it was more competitive than the u-21s. The club's know it too, that's why they send so many kids out on loan and why there are calls for u-21 sides to play in the JPT or even in the lower leagues. (Disgusting idea IMO).

The u21s are a development squad and aisi you don't necessarily want full competition. It's a chance for players to learn the game further, try things out without too much emphasis on the result.

That is where the loans come in: to complete the package.

I don't think loans show the system is broken, they show that it's working.

U21s is also a place to rehabilitate first team players on what looks like our 45, 60, 90 protocol.

That said I imagine anyone with a professional future is likely to be playing u21s when they are u18.

If you're 20 and in the u21s I'd've thought semi-pro is the future.

I think it's widely accepted that the u-21s isn't competitive enough and that there are problems turning youth players into first team footballers. It's an issue throughout the English game, not a criticism of our academy.

I can see that pov and wondered about it myself but I figured the loan system is not a patch to fix a broken system, it's actually the final step in the process.

I think there are more players that go out on loan who fail to cement a first team place in their parent side than those that do and those that make their professional debuts with their parent club stand a better chance of becoming first team players.

Of course, academies produce so many potential players that the majority won't make it with their club, or in many cases, at all.

Why would

Because WHF is a full weight fucktard & has blocked half of the forum. when anyone he has blocked posts something he wont see it. hes a legend in his own ever dcreasing circle.
biggest act of self importance ive seen on the forum

Because that direction has failed miserably several times now ,time for a new one

Has it? Which manager did we last have who had two promotions from League One and one from the Championship in recent years? Wilson had some success some time back, but Clough, Weir, neither of them had a record at this level. Adams didn't have a record of success at Championship. Speed was a first time manager. Robson was a joke. Blackwell only had a Championship play-off with Leeds.

We haven't been picking managers with a track record of succeeding at the task at hand.
