Well the first time EVER i've missed a game at BDTBL out of choice........ me an our gerts been out had a spot of luch and a nice walk.
Under 20,000 at BDTBL i believe.....Mr McCabe you have a problem.

1-0 calve scores it,injurys himself while celebrating and limps off. you carnt fooking buy it can you !

sorry for the off topic comment but just thought id let people know that we,d finally scored

A cracking goal according to wireless. Don't miss on TV he reckons.

Beighton, you and me are obviously the problem ( although I didn't miss the game through choice). Maybe we should stay away. Rather have sub 20,000 crowds and goals than a sell-out full of moaners.

I'd definately have a spy at the telly later if I were you :)

Only cramp hopefully for Calve.

Hopefully this win will steady the nerves, and give em some faith in themselves. Any news on Morgs?

Will most likely be back for Derby.

We didn't miss you...

speak for yersen ............. McCabe won't sleep toneight....sub 20,000 attendance ....oh dear ...... where did it all go wrong ?
Lets hope Gary gets the Blades playing football .......then again why bother ? ...... the decent players would get sold off and sumbody wud grab Gary

Why bother doing anything if some are determined to not show any support for the club.

Some 'supporters' you lot are, having the option of going to the match and deciding against it. You should have a gagging order until you can be bothered again.

The Blades played some great football, which the 19,000 odd who were there thoroughly enjoyed. They also witnessed a cracking goal from a debutant who looks like he is going to become a bit of a hero. The 19,000 odd deserved a day like this, they are the true fans.

Steady on Jansky. We created ZERO chances and you could have kept a sheet for PNE until Yeates had that shot. Yes it was an improvement possession wise but we got through them on precisely ZERO occassions and the lack of pace and width is a total disgrace for a club with our resources and the passing we see will be Robson style stuff unless Speed is allowed to bring players in. Also, it was very amusing seeing Monty run around in some ridiculously advanced positions.

Having said all that, it was obviously a vital win and for the first time in ages I am 100% happy that we have won a game. No longer does a win buy more time for pathetic excuse of a manager.

Bartley was outstanding (apart from when he gave that penalty away which ref somehow thought was outside box) and the full backs made a huge difference. If Speed drops Monty sometime soon he will be cemented in Blade folklore.

Have you forgotten it's the last Bank Holiday weekend BB ? The gates will pick up from now on ....they always do .

I quite enjoyed today and not once did I think of the managers you like to talk of.

Call me strange if you like!

:D

If you care to look at the "Things I Enjoyed About Today" thread you will see my opinion on the problems up front. I broadly agree with you, but am obviously a lot less hysterical. You are right about Bartley, wrong about Monty.

We played well.
Granted we lack a cutting edge, but lets not focus on the Negs.

We won, played ok & DESERVED the three points.

Cracking goal as well!

Well I went to the lane today and a game of football broke out, and to my surprise 19,000 folk enjoyed it not one boo at any of our football. And to top it all a great goal and 3 points COYRAWW,

Yes we played some nice passing stuff, but we didn't calve (ha!) many chances, and we only won because of a thunderbolt effort from a ridiculous distant, much like Boro only won because of an uncharacteristic mistake from our Captain. The point I'm trying to make is we didn't we because we outpassed Preston into submission, we got lucky with one stunning strike, it could so easily have gone the other way.

You know what? I saw a team trying to come terms with a new regime and a new way of playing football.
I don't expect miracles overnight and If I can see some small signs of progress at each match then I'm happy. Winning 1-0 when the game had 0-0 nailed on was a bonus. After the goal you could see the confidence rise among our team to the point that I was expecting a series of Oles to echo round the ground.

I haven't felt this good about the lads in red and white for a long time.

I held a ST for the last 20 years. A mixture of poor football, poor health and poor finances meant I gave up my seat. I think there were plenty of people sat at home 'deserved' it just as much.

Yeah, you're right. I don't disagree at all. I guess I was aiming at the folks who decided not to come purely because we have reverted back to what we have pretty well always been in the nearly 40 years I have been watching us. I think we are losing a few of the people who jumped on board when we had the season long flirtation with the PL, and don't like it now that they are watching what most of us have been putting up with for more years than we care to remember.

And htere's the bullshit-o-meter cranked right the way up to eleven. Ours goes up to eleven, it's one better than ten. Monty played well today - perhaps as part of the Blackwell regime he didn't always play as well as he can, but let's face it, there are those who will never be satisfied with Monty even if he were to score thirty a season and offer to pay to play.

We have gathered that you don't like Monty by now, but the suggestion that Speed would be "cemented in Blade folklore" if he dropped Monty holds as much water and makes as much sense as stating that he will be cemented in Blades folklore if he chins David Blunkett's dog.

For me SV, the only smell of bullshit round here is the phrase 'Monty played well today'. When is Willo fit? Would love to see him in that role today alongside Ertl and Britton if we are playing 433.

Do you serioulsy want to see Monty in a 433 as the midfielder who is meant to push on and get forward? I thought that was his role, especially in first half and I thought it was embarrassing.
