What's the odds on us getting fined more than we've earnt for progressing?

Can we make the fucking embarrassing idiots contribute?

I hope each of them realise that they might have cost us the striker that we desperately wanted.

Agree Linz. Also it spoiled it for everyone else AND themselves because our players and manager would have come round to salute our support and us to salute them for their wonderful performance.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it today but I listened to the game. This is such a positive result in such a depressing season it a shame some complete idiots, morons, twats and any names you care to add can make the club look a complete joke and like Linz said, potentially cost us the signing they've been wanting. for all the fans who went, enjoyed the game, supported the blades in the proper way, well done.

Agree re: smoke bomb. However, if that'd been Stevenage (same position ish) fans invading the pitch, it'd be the "Magic of the FA Cup" and nothing would be done. Just because we're a big club in League 1, it doesn't mean we're not a League 1 club giantkilling beyond our wildest dreams. We just have a bigger ground and fan base so the 0.01% who invaded aftet goals and 1% at the end are no different to any other League 1 club.

If the FA fine us, it'd be a travesty. Aren't people always bemoaning the loss of the "magic of the cup" these days?

EDIT: No different to this - - in my opinion.

I watched the match `totally legally`in the comfort of my own home.Barring the middle eastern commentary,it was a fantastic performance spoiled by idiots.
hope they got them on film and ban the feckers.

Bizarre post after a great day.

Pitch invasions have been a part of cup shocks for years. And even our Board wouldn't stoop as low as claiming that the reason they didn't bring in a striker was because they had to pay a nominal fine. If we don't bring in a striker - which we still need to do despite Porter's heroics today - it will be nothing to do with the fans.

Today was a great day for all Blades fans - I'm not going to get upset because some ran on the pitch.

Agree. There was probably about 2 to 3 hundred and most of them will have been part timers. The club should ban the lot of them.
Anyone on here prepared to give anyone up or admit they were one of the numpties?

Not really after all the bother we've had in the past with fines and suspended punishments. I'm all for celebrating, but some sections of our support let us down and could cost us dearly.

Why should the FA fine us for it?

because they can??
luckily it wasn't on tv, so Mrs Frigid of Tonbridge Wells didn't have to witness such 'atrocious scenes'
we won a big game.. people got carried away. noone got hurt.

Stewarding fault then?
Surely they would have adequate in number expecting an upset.

Gotta admit the flare was proper rank. I was towards the front of the kop and the flare was let off back of the Kop towards the Family corner but the smoke drifted and it got on the chest from where I was sat so it must have been terrible for those closer. The main steward in the yellow jacket with the ear piece had been looking up in that direction for ages first half and kept going to have a look like he knew something was going to happen and then "pop" a flare goes off.

As for the pitch invasion. A bit daft especially before the final whistle and it will no doubt see us landed a fine, I can tolerate it more than the stupid flares and have an understanding that the kids would do it in the way it has happened for decades, it's the excitement of the occasion for em. I don't however have any time for the muppets like the bloke who squared up to lascelles or the one holding things up dancing who Brayford had to remove from the pitch or the dickhead stood waving the corner flasg around. All old enough to know better and will cost the club some money no doubt now.

Why should the FA fine us for it?

Because they can charge us with "failing to ensure that supporters do not enter the field of play". It's usually a fine but can also result in teams being forced to play behind closed doors.

I'd imagine the smoke bombs are more of an issue though. Especially as though it looked like one was lobbed into the Forest fans. Are we putting that down to the "magic of the cup"?

Because that's generally what happens when supporters get on the pitch during the game. Failure to control the crowd.

See example above. Bradford City were not fined or punished. Some of the invaders got a £60 fine but that is it.

Sheer jubilation pitch invasions are OK by me - I wouldn't do it but each to their own. Wednesday weren't punished after their promotion against Wycombe. Neither were Bradford after invasions vs. Arsenal. Countless pitch invasions over the years when a lower league side have upset a big gun or won a major FA Cup match.

Read my earlier reply - I didn't condone the smoke bombs. Fining us for the pitch invasion would be pathetic. I was aware of the smoke bomb at the back of the Kop as it was rank but not of one going in the Forest end.

Indeed, hopefully we'll get away with it, but we do have a track record of being dealt with differently to most examples. Also how many of those ran on the pitch before the end of the game or lobbed smoke bombs towards the opposition fans? We have previous and we have previous treatment in terms of fines and the closure/tightening up on rules in certain areas of the ground.

There was one set off at the back of G&H and then one "appeared" in the front of the Forest end.

After the trouble with the flare a few years ago, we'll more than likely be in bother. And it won't be seen as an isolated incident from the pitch invasion.

And to accuse me of trying to take the joy out of the game by posting about it is a little daft. I'm as happy as everyone else but I managed not to be a dickhead. Apparently it's wrong of me to apply those standards to other people?

I would hope that if we are punished it is not for the pitch invasion. Back to the Bradford example again, they had been warned previously re: pitch invasions but received no fine.

As for the smoke bombs, I'm not sure the club can be held to blame for that. How do you police or steward that? That's just one or two morons.

good job you weren't at Sturm Graz vs Salzbury yesterday.. there were flares all over the place.. and.. the biggest goalkeeping howler i have ever seen.. i'll see if i can find some footage..
seriously. everybody chill
