Based on recent media coverage, appears to have spiralled out of control for almost the entire 2010 / 2011 season. Players coming to blows in training. Managers calling players cheats. Hardly surprising that the 11 players on the pitch have looked, for most of the season, like a group that have been pulled together the night before.

Whatever happened to that inner sanctum commonly known as the dressing room ?

What goes on tour stays on tour ?

Maybe its the modern way what with Twitter / FB etc. Still don't make it right though.

Makes us look unprofessional in the extreme IMHO and not exactly the type of coverage that is going to make us an attractive proposition for any future recruitment.

Would you want to join the Blades right now ? And we are die hard fans.

Sad times :(

Reading between the lines it sounds as though thesplit was partly down to the loanees, most of whom wont be coming back to the home dressing room at BDTBL.

The "cheats" comment from Adams is very interesting, especially as the club have chosen to put it on the OS. I'm not sure exactly what message they are trying to send out with that one.

My interpretation is that it's Adams trying to simply shift the focus of "blame" from him to the players, (particularly the loan ones and those departed, namely Ward) as he fights to keep his job. The truth of the matter is that he was in charge for half the season and fucked it reight up!

Collins and Doyle are the biggest cheats of them all. Reminds me of when Graeme Souness got done at Southampton with George Weah's cousin.

I think the morale in the dressing room sounds about on a par with that in the stands.

It was obvious to the casual observer that there was a deep seated problem within the club, and unfortunatly I believe the club is rotten to the very core at the moment. The only honourable part is the supporters, as ever.

Still gave them my money though...what a mug!!

Is the cheats comment referring to people stealing a wage or is he venting hi frustration at Lowry's hand ball at the weekend?

Morale is exactly what you'd expect from a club on a perilous slide who have used 70 players in 2 seasons, had 4 managers in one season and just been relegated.

Did I hear someone say 28 fullbacks since our Prem relegation, too?

Ive heard that morale amongst the admin staff is also terrible. Wholesale job losses in the ticket offices and commercial departments and also well known faces being moved on.

Total wages at Sheffield United total between £16m and £20m per season, depending on where you look. Player salaries contribute £12m to £14m of that, meaning that there is a huge amount of money going on support departments.

As with any business undergoing a forced downsizing, United will have to consider every available option to release funds. That will no doubt include some of the higher earning footballers but also cutting the number of ticket office staff, the number of catering staff and so on.

It's not nice but in theory, most roles would become necessary again should we get promoted back to the Championship next year.

a 400k a year chief Exec for a start.

I'm glad morale is low TBH - would be upset if they strolled around without a care in the world.

i heard on good authority that the dressing room was split right down the middle between the regulars and the loanees and that fisticuffs ensued on a number of occaisions (my mate lives next door to a first teamer)
