If he’s still in France then that speaks volumes for me.
His heads either not in it and they are letting him try and get his head right, or Wilder doesn’t want him at the club.
He’s had more time off than anyone at the club and has offered little effort or application to the club, fans and most importantly those lads he plays alongside that run their blood to water every day.

I get sick of hearing the “woe betide me” excuses for people’s failures. Quite frankly it’s becoming the excuse of preference for everyone who just can’t be arsed to get their head down and get on with it. Half the world it seems claims to be anxious and depressed Simply because their life isn’t what they want it to be And expect a leg up from someone without actually earning it.
I’m sorry, but it has to be said, if the lad doesn’t want to be playing football and doing the job he’s paid to do and instead wants to be at home dicking about with his friends then clear off.
Bad and sad things happen, using those as excuses for your own failures won’t solve anything and is just being dishonest with yourself. He will be another ex footballer washed up with no money blaming the world and his awful luck for it going wrong while spiralling to further depths.

Actually infuriated me that lads like him with such incredible opportunities end up as Mousset is heading.
He’s not still in France and hadn’t been for a few days so what a waste of a post that was 🤣

I have no idea why some people get so arsey about Mousset's Instagram. He's a young lad posting videos of him and his mates singing songs etc. What's the big deal?

What do you expect? A live stream of him watching replays from our triple assault season? Photos of him tucking into bed at 9pm with his Chris Basham pajamas?

He's apparently spent a lot of time training with his old team while the rest of our players are on holiday. Yet some fans see one video of him relaxing and that means his heads not in it? You guys need to get off social media and stop reading into it too much.

I'll speculate that if on the one hand you need time off to get your head together then screwing around with your pals doesn't really imply that you are in such a bad place. I suspect it's the guys who just knuckle down when things are bad who are most bothered by this whilst the ones who have used/are likely to use this ploy think he's a bit of a lad.

well to be fair as a French lad he could be informing himself about Marcel Proust, reading a work by Victor Hugo or educating himself about the debate around the need for a sixth Republic rather than doing trivial things like look after a baby and carousing with Lunny.
What sort of Frenchman is he ?

Now excuse me i want to read the latest work by the Barnsley Bard

Were you unaware that his Dad passed? Or are you that insensitive?

Really hopeful the lad has a good season next year ,its a pity crowds aren't back as I think if he knew how much love there is for him it would have a really positive effect on him

To me last season he looked like his head just wasn't right and that's fine we all have mental health problems we have to deal with let's hope he's learned to cope with his setbacks and channel them into something positive ,whether that be tearing upbtye prem or arseing about with his mates he's genuinely the best hope we have of maintaining out status as a premier club

But how can you make that call based on a few pictures and videos on bloody Instagram.

For all we know, he spends 23 hours of every day either; training, sleeping or spending time with his family and new baby but chooses not to post those moments on social media

Also how can you say he can't be in a bad place because he's with his friends? Do you not think that a lad in his early 20's that's suffering would benefit from having a bit of fun with his mates? Mates who he hasn't seen in ages due to being locked down in a foreign country on his own.

I don't get how people use all this emotional bullshit as an excuse. When my mam died I just shrugged mi shoulders and got back to it. He just needs to tell his feelings to stop, maybe just bottle it all up and let it fester for a bit?

If only life was that simple, thankfully it is a case of different strokes for different folks!

I'm not making the call, I'm saying why people would be annoyed if he has time off when he should be working then things appear on social media. It's an odd thing to do at any time but if he's out doing these things while Sheffield United still have games of football to play... I'm a much more forgiving guy than Wilder is we'll have to wait and see whether he reappears. If you've ready any of my posts I always put Mousset at the top of our list of strikers but if he's not 100% into it he'll be heading down Ravel Morrison Road before long.

What he puts on Instagram is his business. Unless he was working his way through a crate of Special Brew then I’m not really bothered. I don’t understand the appeal of dancing round your car and filming it but I feel the same about many other pursuits like golf or dogging.

He’s a young lad from Northern France not Paul Stancliffe sat in his Parker Knoll eating bolognese and listening to Phil Collins “No Jacket Required” night after night.

My point is that if he's doing these things when he should've been in Sheffield it is his employer's business and the customer's of that business have a right to be aggravated if he is reducing the standard of the product with his actions. And nobody knows one way or the other what the truth is so it's being speculated on a forum.

Maybe it’s frustration.

I've just watch the ‘Don’t Write off SUFC‘ video and it makes you realise how great a player Moose could be and how good/important his goals were last season.

Few can dream of being a SUFC striker scoring at BDTBL and earning millions a year for the pleasure. But the many can never aspire to that dream so we are supporters instead and we dream of players like Moose doing it for us.

But then he disappears apart from the posts of fast cars, rap music and general foolhardiness while we aren’t even allowed to go games or meet our mates and families for 3 months.

Its frustration (or as you call it arsey with him) not hate or lack of understanding about his loss / mental state. Our fix would be to see a young talent tear the PL a new one because I think he could and just maybe it will sort him out if he can get it together. Then he can have the fun in 6/7 years time a very rich young man.

He’s probably the most naturally gifted striker we have, he’s a maverick but what’s the issue with that? Every club has one. Some of our fans seem to have a massive chip on their shoulder about how much a player costs or what car they drive. We finished in the top half of the richest league in the world, some of our players are going to be earning a decent quid. Ironic that when every member of our squad were pissed for 3 weeks solid when we got promoted they were all legends but Moose puts on a video on social media with his mates and he’s a liability.

That spell between October and December he was like a prime R9, even if he gives us 20 minutes in a match he offers something that no one else does. Only our fans could write off a player directly responsible for over a quarter of our goals last season, more than any other player.

If he was given time off to go to France, why should he have been in Sheffield?
If he was told to go and see his friends and family, because he's had a family tragedy, had a baby which is in France and the UK has been in a difficult lockdown situation, what precisely does "it's his employer's business" mean when he's doing what he's been told to do?
How is he "reducing the standard of the product" by publicly enjoying seeing friends he hasn't seen in ages - except for the stiff-necked draconian views of some on here and bearing in mind that most people of his age group and younger will identify completely with his social media?
Do you remember the number of people who leapt to the defence of McBurnie, Madine and Evans who claimed their off-the-field antics were either perfectly alright or not associated with the club, despite being considerably more likely to "reduce the standard of the product" than anything Moussett has done?
I'm not sure what "truth" it is you're after, but amongst some of the ridiculous speculation are mentions of him training in France and already being in Sheffield - which some people seem to want to ignore.

Just because he likes chilling with his mates, listening to hip hop, and showing his car on Instagram doesn’t mean he’s in a bad place. That’s a ridiculous and shallow thing to say. I’ve known lads who are the life and soul of the party, happy as Larry, even married with kids, go home from the boozer and top themselves.

What do you want him to do? Go home and paint renaissance paintings?

No problem with anyone "being a maverick" if they put the work in & their output is decent.

But look at Mousset's career to see a picture of a young man unable, or unwilling to get himself fit enough to regularly play 90 minutes of football.
In fact, I don't think he played a full game for us once last season.

There seems to be a theory that a lot subscribe to that you can't judge a person by the content of their social media, but he posts - almost daily - with insights into his personal life. Why would this be completely ignored? Nobody is suggesting it gives the full picture, but it tells something...

Nobody is judging him on his social media in isolation, nor on his "owning an orange lamborghini."
But when you start adding in all of the bits & pieces; the on-field evidence (unable to get fit, oft strolling around the pitch, unable to speak the language), the off-field rumours (rifts with management, dietary issues etc), the social media posts (displays of wealth, laid back persona, always with French mates acting like he's in rap videos) then you can start to form a picture.

Others can & will interpret things differently, that's fine. I hope you guys are right & he turns things around and becomes the player we all know he can be (October/November Mousset).
Sadly, I think there is more to suggest he will struggle for fitness again next season and probably be shipped out next Summer.

Hiya mate. I didn't write that no idea what's happened there. Me and technology have never got on

We all know what he's been through recently and he's only 24.

I had similar losses and I'm still not right and might never be, and I'm under a lot less pressure than he is.

If he's not quite right but still does his best and gets 6 goals and 4 assists he deserves more respect than he's getting from some on here.

I am sorry to hear that. Hope you are okay mate.
