I used to wander up to the Ball Inn ground to watch my heroes train.
I've never been to Shirecliffe - does it have impenetrable security ?

Any official comment on whether he's at Shirecliffe or not + if not , where he is + why ?

The same question could be asked about a few of the first team squad, it appears not all are back in training yet.

He’s visible on the blades latest Facebook training video posted on Facebook.

It’s only a quick glance as CR curls one in; but he’s there wearing bright orange boots.

He was also apparently photographed near the crucible last week and posted on Twitter. No idea when the pic was actually taken but if the person who tweeted it is telling the truth then he’s been back a while.

While there’s been impressive levels of overreaction and jumping to conclusions based on very little in this thread, I think we’ve still got a few levels this forum can reach before we can say we’ve really completed a classic United preseason.

What we could really do with now is one of the players’ significant others posting something totally unrelated on twitter. Maybe something like “Think I’ll be holidaying in the UK this year what with all the people I’m hearing coming back with Covid”, which we can then take on here as “Mousset has Covid” and “Wilder is absolutely furious”.

Let's have a bit of positivity, he might be thinking that if he knuckles down and gets fit he could be a starter and get back into the french set up... Hope so..

More likely he's enjoying the cafe's and the superb food.. And doesn't want to come back.. Another big time Charlie, full pockets at 25 and skint at 40..

I know one thing, we won't muck about with him should he tip the scales when he gets back..

Posted on another thread, but probably relevant here too.

Saw him jogging down Dore Road about half an hour ago, so he's not in France still. He was wearing a weird mask/breathing apparatus too. I'd think that would make jogging harder. Anyway, he was jogging very slowly, so I suspect those French banana boats have taken it out of him a bit...

In 2006/7 I was invited up to Shirecliffe as I was doing a thing for BHF with Rob Hulse which was in Star, I was also on Calendar.

Yes. Still nobbing about pretending he's in rap videos with his mates.
Meanwhile the lads are busting lungs on the training ground to be ready for next season.

Sadly it doesn't look like clicking anytime soon with Mousset, which is a huge shame given his considerable talent.
I think we should keep him for another year as he offers something different off the bench. After that, this time next Summer - final year of his contract - I see him being shipped out. Back to France at a middling club where he will continue his decline.

Hope to be proved wrong.
What again?

He was training with La Havre before the boys had even got into training. Give him some credit, hope he comes back a monster. If he needs to clear his head with his mates so be it. If he comes back a beast from it I'm all for it.

If he’s still in France then that speaks volumes for me.
His heads either not in it and they are letting him try and get his head right, or Wilder doesn’t want him at the club.
He’s had more time off than anyone at the club and has offered little effort or application to the club, fans and most importantly those lads he plays alongside that run their blood to water every day.

I get sick of hearing the “woe betide me” excuses for people’s failures. Quite frankly it’s becoming the excuse of preference for everyone who just can’t be arsed to get their head down and get on with it. Half the world it seems claims to be anxious and depressed Simply because their life isn’t what they want it to be And expect a leg up from someone without actually earning it.
I’m sorry, but it has to be said, if the lad doesn’t want to be playing football and doing the job he’s paid to do and instead wants to be at home dicking about with his friends then clear off.
Bad and sad things happen, using those as excuses for your own failures won’t solve anything and is just being dishonest with yourself. He will be another ex footballer washed up with no money blaming the world and his awful luck for it going wrong while spiralling to further depths.

Actually infuriated me that lads like him with such incredible opportunities end up as Mousset is heading.

Snowflakes everywhere pal! Fucking disgusting isn't it? Everyone should shut up and get on with it.

Of course the player in question hasn’t actually said any of the above but don’t let that stop anyone ranting at the moon about what’s actually happening.

I was being sarcastic pal. Hard to get across on here I guess.

We have no idea what Lys is going through, but perhaps because he earns a few quid he shouldn't have any feelings and should shut up and get on with it. 🙄

I read it as sarcastic and was in agreement. 👍
Some of the stuff our fans say about our own players is certainly eye opening, but you wait until a player wants to leave or is linked with a big move, it’ll be the same ones moaning that there’s no loyalty in the game anymore.

We all know what he's been through recently and he's only 24.

I had similar losses and I'm still not right and might never be, and I'm under a lot less pressure than he is.

If he's not quite right but still does his best and gets 6 goals and 4 assists he deserves more respect than he's getting from some on here.

We shall have to see what happens. Does he want to be a premiership striker, or does he want to be a fool.
Currently the fool appears to have the upper hand.

Based on what? Having a Lamborghini and not walking around everyday in a beige suit and brogues with a sensible side parting?

Not heard any stories about him going to Greece and twatting a copper for example, now that's foolish.
