I'm puzzled by the comparisons between Coutts and Norwood. At the time Coutts had that mind-numbing injury (an assault by any description) he was head and shoulders as good a midfield player that this division deserved. I couldn't wait to see how he'd compete at Prem level as his play suggested he'd be more than able and willing.
With the horrendous injury we were deprived of a great player, so signing Norwood had all the ingredients of having found someone to add that extra dash of quality to our play. It took Norwood some time to show his value but when it appeared, were we the lucky ones or what? Both players had different skill-sets, but to be honest we'll never know just how good Coutts could have become, and in many ways the same applies to Norwood. So bicker away, I happened to love watching the Rolls-Royce of a midfielder that Coutts had become, so no matter how dismissive anyone is of the talent he brought to our team (and I'm not forgetting the contributions of Duffy and Fleck in driving that midfield), to my eyes Coutts oozed class. As for Oliver, why squabble, and over what exactly? Both excellent players on their day but both different but crucial to where we wanted to be.
