Khadra will be gone in January
In the system we play him and McAtee are surplus to requirements unless Ndiaye or Berge get injured.

Fleck and Norwood are his holding midfield pair for better or for worse and Sander is used a bit further forward with Ndiaye forward of them.

I don’t really have a problem with that if they all play well. If they don’t they need dropping and Doyle comes in for Fleck/Norwood, Khadra for Ndiaye and McAtee for Berge.

I just don’t see Man City and Brighton being happy with that arrangement though. I’d rather use our players than loan players unless they are MGW level game changers.

The usual bedwetting crying and bawling. A few points to note we start slow. Generally a tradition at BDTBL. This seasons start certainly can’t be worse than last seasons. We have new players to integrate. There has to be a balance between bringing in Mcatee, Doyle and Khedra and Maintaining acceptable results ie. a draw at ’boro while disappointing after taking the lead is a respectable result regardless of the Wilder factor. Creating a team with the flair and grit from the new players and our existing stock is going to take time on the training ground and in matches Norwood and Fleck have certainly underperformed, however Norwood looked to have played a part in both goals. McBurnies cameo was an error but hindsight has always been 20/20. We have seen worse but expect more I’m pretty thankful for this years start.

I think the senior players may now get a rest, with two games a week, and hopefully we can get a better look at our loan players, especially midfielders?

Is there any thinking behind McPub sub other than help defend set pieces

No pace, no out ball, two isolated strikers feeding off scraps for the last 10 mins

To have the 3 loan lads on the bench and not use any is fucking stupid. Boro will be relieved to see none of them come on
He cannot defend set pieces. For the last 3 seasons his stats in the air have been the worst in the league.

Broadly agree with that but it's really not 20/20 hindsight about McBurnie. as soon as he came on I put a bet on a draw. He totally changed the game for the 15 minutes he was on the pitch and it was so so predictable.

Two points dropped. Might come back, come the business end to bite them on their collective arris.

Traditionally starting slow and losing points at the beginning of the season, oh it's early yet, this has to stop.
Those points at the beginning of the season carry the same weight as losing those points when fighting for a playoff spot in the final few games of the season.

Why doesn't Hecky like making subs? He did the same all of last season, making few subs and always very late on in matches. It's odd, particularly when we can use five this season. Surely he's got the options on the bench. He mentions that players aren't ready yet, or not up to speed, but then doesn't give them a chance to get up to speed. Strange.
30 degree heat and we make 2 subs all game... Strange hecky

It was Hecky's spineless incompetence in this game that will cost us

We'd still have a 7 point gap and a game in hand if he didn't decide to give them this point. And what we wouldn't give for that now
