I'm having an 'is it just me' moment here..

I think Turner might be a bit of a Paddy Mccarthy if we get him.

I forbid those thoughts Keef

But there again you might be onto something...

I'm guessing he'll actually train with us but if it's ageing and slow we're after (aka experienced/seasoned), we might be better off not paying a fortune for it.

A Norwich fan's report I read, and a recent one at that, bemoaned his distribution (McCarthy?), said he looked well off the pace (McCarthy?), but this was all within the context of the Prem. My one reservation is that I think some fans seem to think that Div 1 is a stroll in the park for ageing Prem players, especially defenders. If they still retain quickness of thought, some physical speed, and they still do the basics well, well that's an altogether different proposition, and I'll be happy to see Turner at t'Lane.

Turner wd be a good signing but I'd rather see us sign a good young big lad, hard to come by and risky too but I think Barnsley picked up a good un in Mawson.

Who is Turner WD? The one we are after is Turner MT. I'm confused...

We've already got one who was very highly rated before he joined and still may get there.

Young Harrison?

I've only seen him play once against Dundee United last pre season and thought he looked very poor. He made Butler look immense when he replaced him.

The man himself.

Be utter folly to write him off given the fact that Blackpool supporters rated him so highly and players such as Murphy have turned from ducklings to swans after early difficult spells at the club.

The issue with Harrison is that he has, on the face of it, all the qualities to be a top quality footballer. He is tall, strong, a decent header of the ball and an absolute unit for his size. Unfortunately, I think he lacks the brain of a top-level footballer at the moment. He seems to need some direction, prompting from others around him and could benefit greatly from some game time and playing alongside a centre-half partner (or coach) who teaches him to read the game.

He seems a bit slow on the uptake, when reading the game and that leaves you out of position. I have hope for him though. He really needs to go out on loan. Somewhere like Northampton would be ideal; give him a bit of independence, and learn from established pros like Ryan Cresswell and Evan Horwood. Wilder could be good for him too.

He'd better hurry up then. He's got some catching up to do if he's going to be any good.

Out of interest, is he getting any games in the development squad or owt?

He was.

He's injured for a good few weeks I believe.

And he's really quite young with a some very good games behind him in the league above, he's not got that much catching up to do. I certainly see him as a better option later in the season than Jay Mac.

Harrison is injured I believe...think Adkins made him captain for one of the U21 game's...had a good game against the Spammers :D

EDIT: jinx Houso

Any signing we make needs to be completed by noon tomorrow, for him to be eligible to play Saturday, and we're short of them Center Backs.

Probably needs a season long loan does Harrison and to get himself a lot of game time. I agree Northampton would be ideal place for him to develop more. Although is he not on the injury list with everyone else at the moment?

He's also got a poor attitude. I was in the casino the day after the playoffs and bumped into three of our players, two were very pleasant men. Harrison on the other hand was still at the poker table at 8.30am when they had to be in at 10am. Whether that just reflects on players attitudes to Clough I don't know, I still wasn't best pleased and I let him know it.

Where did he have to go be in at 10 o'clock in the morning that was going to take 90 mins and make him late?

They were due in at the training ground. Granted the season was over, but is that still the attitude you want from our players? Out on the lash all night, then still playing poker and drunk when you're due in for work 90 mins later?

I'd be more worried that we had a manager who wanted the players in for training the day after the season ended. Must have been some kind of dictator that Clough.

My thoughts as well at the time. I'm fairness it could have been a bit of a debrief of the season, who knows. However it has to be said the other two players were an absolute pleasure

So you were in the casino at 8.30am, and you are criticising someone else for being in the casino at 8.30am? OK ...

Turner's wages and a proper nasty bastard in midfield with the Murphy money.

Will do me nicely.

Why should the nasty bastard in midfield have the Murphy money? Assuming it's in cash, it would restrict his movement severely and limit his ability to jump at set pieces. Perhaps he could carry it in a large bag, in which case he would, of course, be a holding midfielder. A cheque might be the answer; he could tuck it in his socks.

Or couldn't he be a gregarious chap who happens to need an outlet for his aggression? I've known plenty over the years, lovely to a fault but you wouldn't want to turn your back on 'em.
