I have continually criticised the board for their approach to our club through inside information I’ve been given both off and on the pitch etc. Ive been lambasted for saying it but that was everyone’s prerogative but today i feel I should change my approach by accepting the prince and accept mediocrity. We are a medium size club with a medium sized fan base in a northern city that boasts little of the financial/commercial power of other northern cities like Leeds or Manchester. I don’t see us making much of an impact next season because i don’t see the prince willing to spend to achieve an immediate return. A return to a league where we get battered every week doesn't excite me. I’m going to renew the last minute to retain my seat but in the knowledge we are and will remain mediocre.

There is a reason we can't find a credible buyer for the club... Sheffield .. pains me to say it who wants to invest in Sheffield does anyone invest in Sheffield. Leeds Manchester investible. Im Starting to think the problem is Sheffield

We’re one of the 30 biggest clubs in the country with a league one level owner who’s holding us back.

We’re right to both expect and hope for better

What about Burnley? There’s a club that’s continually over performed for the size of the town

I live in the States and Sheffield is fucking great, ten times better than this shit hole so stop whining. We're talking about a football team going through a rough patch, most teams do so stop feeling sorry for yourselves and crack on.
Not sure about your point of living in the states with a comparison to Sheffield. I never said the city is shit i just said financially and commercially Sheffield isn’t at it. No feeling sorry for myself just saying we are and will remain mediocre.

I’ve always wondered about that, they’ve spent cash this season but had a good manager for years that kept them in the premier

Well why don't you cry about it ?

The fanbase repeatedly parroting how tough the Premier League is and how we much prefer the Championship mist delight the Prince. He’s got off the hook for this shitshow of a season.
Each to their own but this "I'm glad we are out and I hope we never come back" stuff is weird. PL is rotten to the core but it's all their is at the moment. For a club with an owner like this, it's a necessary evil at least 3 seasons a decade

If we don't get back before the parachute payments run out, we can't afford to both run the club and field a team

Sheffield is behind Manchester and Leeds in the wealth stakes city wise. There is no denying that. However it is the 4th/5th largest city in England and boasts two internationally renowned universities and is of course well known for our steel making past. There is no airport nearby thanks to Doncaster closing but the East Midlands airport and Manchester airport are only an hour away each. It is not like we are some backwater. Most importantly though there is an enormous appetite for football in this city. Both us and that lot down the road boast very high attendances between us. If United actually had good ownership for once, we could really push on and grow.

The support isn't mediocre - it's anything but, it's credible and solid, it returns year in year out, it deserves better.

The mediocrity is driven by the owner-

Every year the fans on these boards beg for quality over quantity, and the exact opposite happens we buy a load of cheap mediocre gambles

Little Benni, Slimane, Davies, Larouchi,Souza, Grbic - a total pile of mediocrity.

Souvenir shop full of shit- instead of thinking quality we think cheap shitty option.

Whilst parachute money is there- he should think - get rid of this shit, pay good money to get 1- A keeper 2. A Centre back 3. A left back - any player Chris wants to keep any he wants rid get rid. Buy BBD - attack it properly.

For all the idiots thinking selling Ndiaye and Berge was good business sense it wasn't it derailed us before we got going.

Fucking airports.

Manchester, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford and Humberside are an hour away, does anyone really think that it makes a blind bit of difference if Doncaster airport is open or closed as to whether we get investment?

If you’re rich you fly to a private airport and get someone to drive you anyway.

Medium sized fan base i said. My point is all we can expect is mediocre

It's a fair point i agree in the main just watched spurs arsenal and var is just awful spurs score 4 mins of celebrations cue lines on screen i seriously won't miss that just hope the championship doesn't decide to use it. The simulation is appalling players holding faces for brushes across the face. I hate it born in the 70s i really struggle to accept football today. Add the fact we are crap and it's just not what watching football should be about. I can accept loosing but there is a way to lose jesus we are champions at waving the white flag this season.

I agree but even the hotel was a flight of fancy. Build it and they will come, deluded.

That's the point, someone's investing in them and they're smaller cities than Sheffield
I know but our owner has sold mediocrity to me on the basis he bleats about he can’t afford it and people defend it. I think i might have to be more pragmatic and accept it. I guess I’m convincing myself to renew my season ticket in neither hope nor expectation.

? Must see it as more commercial viable (not a statement of fact, just don’t know why)

He doesn’t give a toss about leaving the PL and the value of his investment going down but that thought delights him. Okay :👍

Well that wasn’t quite what I said. He’s been fortunate the crowd hasn’t completely turned as he’s contrived to deliver one of the worst seasons in Premier League history.

I firmly believe that the prince isn’t in any rush to sell the club at all. Hence the ridiculous asking price. Sheffield United is the best known of the no mark clubs under the United World banner. Beerschot? Chateroux? The other ones aren’t even worth a mention. Without the association to Sheffield United, United World isn’t worth a toss.

95% of our fan base are either

A - related to him
B- friends
C - club employees
D - money mules carrying PL money to United World.

Must be true, l think l’ve read it on here.

Then again, unlike easily identifiable posters on here, maybe the majority don’t spend their days repeating the same negative comments whenever a new thread comes up. Maybe they worry about the future of the club rather than seeming desperate to be right being the main thing on their minds.

What is the asking price? Has the Prince actually said?
