McCabe or Abdullah?

I don't know but alot of the Prince fans on twitter reckon we can outspend Man City when he takes control:D

Your second paragraph in point 2 is the most interesting.

McC offered to pay £5m, assuming that the Prince would then trigger the contract clause and that he would pay McC £5m, plus the market £20m or so for the physical assets.

The Prince, however, said he would pay the £5m, but didn’t have to buy the assets as he’d sold a lot of his shares so he wouldn’t exceed the trigger in % ownership that demanded that he buy the assets - hence the dispute.

The interesting point that you make is whether there was a timescale for acceptance of the offers in the terms of their contract. If not, then the Prince might now think that £25m for McC’s half plus the assets is a good deal, as he’ll get his money back and more from PL revenue and then still be able to offload a PL club for good money on top.

All we care about is keeping Wilder happy, and with enough money to make him”dangerous” as he himself put it. Best chance of that is getting the club sold by either side to someone with bottomless pockets who will sit back and watch Wilder grow the value of their investment. Unfortunately we don’t know who, if anybody, is hovering in the shadows behind either of the current parties.

Where is that Chinese white knight when you need him?

The right outcome(s) would be:-

A - both bury the hatchet and get behind the manager & team

B - They both sell up McCabe gets some of his ££ back, the Prince gets a profit from his investment and we get a new owner with a fresh vision. (Both win?)
I don't mind either but B would be great. The premier league money will probably cut both their losses big time so I suspect they could now afford to sell at what will be a more attractive, lower price to a potential buyer(s).

Barney Barney what have you done with the Avatar? There has to be a story?

The club gets the PL money, not the owners. They get their money back on sale or maybe yes maybe no after the court case.

How many times does this have to be explained?

He didn't sell any of his shares, he moved them into another company he owned in order to avoid triggering the 75% shareholding which would have triggered the requirement to buy the property assets. I believe Judge Fancourt described it as a "commercial manoeuvre."

Neither of them has the money needed to hold our own in the Premier League. I just hope that our promotion helps attract a new owner who wants to take us forward and is capable of doing so.

What happened to the Russian geezer who walked away from the gooners :D:D

Who are the Prince fans and if they say that, why doesn't he just go ahead and spend, spend, spend now?

I'm a massive Prince fan. Loved "Purple Rain" and "Raspberry Beret". But if he could outspend Man City if he takes control, he's been hiding his wealth very successfully.

The person who said that, said the reason he’s not spent it so far is McCabe can’t or won’t match him (remember those rumors) so he won’t pump all the money in whilst McCabe reaps half the rewards.

Whilst I could believe the above on a smaller scale I don’t believe he would of spent a lot more money anyway. I don’t think he has the personal wealth.

If he had contacts who wanted to invest, well then it could be possible. Who knows.

Well HRH seemingly could have got the lot for a maximum £30m. If his "commercial manoeuvre" doesn't succeed it could effectively cost him tens of millions simply because he didn't want to buy the ground as originally agreed at the outset.

His original UTB set up has disposed of them. If they hadn't they wouldn't be in court. I can't remember seeing who actually owned the new set up.

In many ways, I don’t particularly want a new owner.
Why should some Johnny-come-lately bloke come in now and take advantage of our success?
Where were they when we needed them in the dark days of League One?

At least The Prince put some money in when we needed it most and McCabe has obviously done so for years.
Ideal scenario for me is they call off the court case and just continue as Co-owners.
Both give Wilder their total backing and give him a decent wedge of The Premier League money to invest and grow.
They don’t need to keep pumping money in now.
Let Sky do that and let Wilder do the rest.

He obviously feels he can get away with the move. As a business man why wouldn’t he do it. If it fails he will have the option to pay the “maximum 30m”. If he has things lined up I’m sure he will. We will see.

That's if McCabes bid remains on the table. His offer was for all the shares. What he thought he could buy wasn't available. Contractual mistake? Could void the deal. Who knows?

If they decided what the prince did was wrong for whatever reason, I can’t see why they wouldn’t revert back to prior to the ultimatum. Surely then the conversation has to be either pay up or take Kevs offer.

As I’ve said before, in my opinion they should sell together but going back to being partners in the long term surely can’t work.

If they find that what HRH did was "wrong" then l'd say the whole deal is null and void as their was no acceptance. But the law is best left to Judges and lawyers.

I've also said exactly the same thing.

A business partner of one of the club sponsors told me on Friday that McCabe and the Prince had agreed to halt the legal case.
Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing if true as it doesn’t necessarily mean they will work together, could it be promotion changes the nature or financials of the case so they need a pause to take that into account?
Not legally experienced but guess it could be for a number of reasons.
