Kraft durch Freude
TBH graf I think the voices slagging McCabe for not 'backing the manager' are now few. He has backed CW (or we would have heard it from CW himself) to the 'best of his ability'. He can't compete with the multi billionaires and the reward for failure amounts of PL money coming into the championship.
Something is going to happen, it can't go on like this, rich clubs, rich players on a million a month vs clubs on the brink of bankruptcy and talented players sat on the sidelines unable to play competitive football until negotiations begin in January.
That's not sustainable!
But I'm afraid it is. Like billionaires in London living cheek by jowl with the homeless (or in Hong Kong in that programme the other night), what keeps it sustainable is that 'the system' is set up to favour the rich and influential. I'm old enough to keep my aspirations reasonable. K. Mac sits not far from me at most home games. Have you ever looked at your house and thought 'that gutter will need fixing soon' or 'I'll have to decorate the outside soon'. Well, for Mr. McCabe, our fabulous stadium is just one of his 'houses'. The running costs must be astronomical, but people still accuse him of parsimony.
Football is littered with 'owners' who went for 'shit or bust'. Chansiri is just one of them, along with the criminals in charge at Birmingham. We had years of looking at the bomb site that was John Street. Wendy watch the rust grow in front of their eyes while mercenaries pocket the cash and fuck off.
