I went to Hamburg SV vs. Werder Bremen last weekend and they have loads of flags behind the goal. It does look fantastic. They also sing for the full 90 minutes non-stop.

Wash your mouth out with soap young Matthew. Don't you read these threads? This is a Sheffield club for Sheffield people. We'll have non of that raucous cacophony in our stands. FFS, when would the miserable bastards get time to piss, blort and whinge if they were expected to sing for that length of time...?

Don’t want to be a pedant, but is £500 about right/enough? Will the powers that be allow it? Will it meet any H&S specification?
Also, what happens my money if this never happens for whatever reason?

£500 sounds about right with the level of interest, and would look awesome.
Don't think there's any rules stating we cannot have a flag? (H&S inc.)
I reckon if the goal isn't met then the money is refunded to you (unsure of this though!).

I would need everybody's input with design and organising stuff though. It's there anyway if enough people want to get behind it!

It'll be a nightmare mate, they'll be people not wanting one, blokes saying the picture is wrong, others will want the wording changed but do nothing to contribute.
We won't get everyone to agree let alone drum up 500 quid.

a) ascertain that this is Health and Safety compliant and the club approve it, and
b) get enough pledges from others to take this to a realistic level, then I will donate £100. It’s a genuine offer, but entirely contingent on the above.

Having praised Ricky elsewhere for his efforts on BLUT, it’s only right to make an active contribution myself.
