Hamer was more than defensively solid and at his most productive when playing deeper for coventry either in a double pivot or on right hand side of midfield diamond. And on occassion played either the deeper role or the most advanced role in a 3511. COH and BBD also more than capable of making up that defensive workrate difference if present also.

I was mainly referring to one poster's personal anti-McBurnie crusade that's been ongoing for several years now.
The poster who now has ties at Las Palmas and knows what goes on behind closed doors.

You're well within your rights to not rate Oli of course.

My opinion is he's that we need better than Ol in the premier league.

Given that we struggle with transitions at the moment and Peck (81.8%), Davies (86.4%), Arblaster (85.1%) and (ridiculously) Souza (89%) get castigated for giving the ball away we'd be in all kinds of trouble if Hamer was chucking away possesion 1 in 3 times at the base of the midfield.

If the BBD deal is done as suggested by some and we only have one more space for an attacking player then i'd prefer us to bring in a player with similar characteristics to Campbell, i.e. pace and movement to stretch teams and run in behind. We've missed that over the last few weeks. KM up top on his own with his back to goal and limited movement is like a handbrake on our attacking play. Compounded by the fact he rarely makes it into a good position to be on the end of any crosses. His best all round performance, by a mile, came at Blackburn with TC alongside him.

In the absence of any better targets with more pace then i'd take Oli on loan. If McBurnie is fit, then at his best i think he does have the movement, if not express pace, to stretch teams. Certainly much more so than KM. We've scored plenty of goals at both PL and Champ levels where Oli has done this for us. He also has already had a good playing relationship with BBD.

I'd have the other 2 back in a heartbeat. They're luxury players, particularly Ndiaye.

There are plenty of strikers out there who can score the same amount of goals McBurnie can. All of similar cost too.

I always liked McBurnie and defended him on here, but I'd rather is invest in pace up front

Hamer is a vertical facing player. Tends to lose the ball playing sideways and back. Stick him on the wing or attacking mid. This is why we need players to play through the gaps more jnto spaces he gets into

Exactly. Hamer loses the ball at times as he tries to make things happen, I’m sure he could knock it sideways and backwards and up his completion percentage but that’s not why he’s in the team.

Do you think Anel lacks physicality? I don’t see him getting bullied by attackers tbf. I think he lacks concentration and switches off at times which is his main weakness.
