I can jog around a bit, throw an occasional elbow and sit in the stand for half a season and I'd do it for a tenth of whatever he's currently being offered. If he's playing funny buggers he can fuck off. He's really not that big a loss.

Can you also be top scorer for a team that finished 9th in the prem ?

Can you be the top scorer for a team that achieved automatic promotion ?

The burning question is, how many games are we going to get out of him because of his fitness issues, it's already noticeable Utd are not going to hang on to players what spend more time on the treatment table.

Hes played 60 games the past 2 seasons

Yes. With how many league goals? Hardly prolific. As I said, no big loss.

Logically we'll have offered McBurnie a lower salary. For various reasons. So it's not a shock nothing is agreed yet and his agent probably negotiating with anyone that will talk to him.

I hope Oli stays but only if it's a good deal for the club.

If he's not fit for every game then it's a total waste of money.
I get the point people are trying to make but going to extremes like this doesn't help.

Do you know how rare it is for a player to play every game in the Championship? On average, the 24 clubs won't even have 1 player each who gets to 46 appearances.

Possibly we offered a pay as u play deal which makes sense from our point of view, rightly his agent said no as he wouldn't be able to afford his food bill

All set up for the “I’m not leaving” promo vid re-sign

From McBurnie's perspective, it depends how long he leaves it because despite whatever peanuts we're offering him, I can't imagine there's a massive queue of Premier League clubs looking to sign him or to offer him what he thinks he should be getting.

Give it a couple of weeks, he might have no choice but to accept our offer or go without entirely.

We can't afford to do that! If he's not fit for every game then it's a total waste of money. I get most players from time to time have injury issues but Mcburnies not available for lots of games, and like I've said utd seem to be getting rid of the sicknote problems.
He's been the one striker that has actually scored in recent seasons, despite his limited game time. Unless we are confident we can replace that, we can't afford to lose it.

My guess is that McB wants to stay and the new owners want him to stay.

Likely they have a nice contract lined up with a sign-on bonus ready for him once the takeover goes through so makes no sense for him not to hold off.
This is how I'm interpreting it, I feel he would've been quick to have something else lined up if he wanted to leave.

dont know what all the fuss is about with mcburnie hes a decent championship striker at best if hes waiting for a premier league offer to come in i think hes going to be dissapointed he can go for me

Whatever his faults, he's our best striker by a long way. He just got 6 PL goals, for an all-time bad top flight team, despite being injured a lot. His goals per minute stats are pretty good for the last two seasons. Might be harder to replace than people think.

However, he misses too many games (like most of our players), he's a high earner and there's always a chance he'll do something dopey.

I for one want him to stay, a real presence when defending corners, holds the ball up well and scores enough , his injury record is due to the roll he plays , back to goal tussling and bringing others into play this leads to getting clattered more than most. I think hes really matured and would be a good captain and leader.

I would pay him £17.5 k per week which I believe is half of his alleged £35k weekly salary now. Then pay him £10k per goal gets 20 goals we won’t be far away from Top 6,also should keep him focused on keeping fit⚔️⚔️⚔️

This should every footballers contract.

£10k basics all round, the rest is performance based. If they are a goalscorer, pay £10k-£100k per goal. Easy!

We'd have saved a fortune on Brewster..

Very good of you to step in, mate.

It’ll certainly save the club some dish you paying him instead.

Good on yer! 🤣

Maybe £5000 for everytime he wins a defensive error and £5000 when he wins possession in midfield, as last season he was our best defender and midfielder when he played..

Las Palmas fans offering McB a bottle of sun lotion in exchange for his shirt 😂

Apparently they all call him "McFlurry" over there!

Bloody love football I do
Awww look at him, living his best life. Genuinely happy for the lad, it's a bizarre move in pure "career footballer" terms but it suits him perfectly
