SecondedWell I for one hope he stays.
Going nowhere
They certainly could. Take a look at their latest accounts. Incredibly solid. He would be their highest paid player, but they could afford it.Hearts couldn't afford his wages.

My Hearts supporting mate reckons the max they could offer him would be about 3 grand a week.
The SPL TV deal is tiny compared to the premier league. 150 million for 4 years spread between all clubs. We will get more than that for last year + guaranteed parachute paymentsThe average League Two club can afford that for a striker.
I'd imagine it less negotiating and more " that's our offer, take it or leave it"Apparently still negotiating with McBurnie
Insane hysteria automatically follows everything that ever happens. We have a section of our support that exists in a permanent state of insane hysteria. We offered contracts to some injury prone players. They didn’t sign. Now they are free.
I don’t really get the insane hysteria surrounding it.
Bottom line is as a club, we think McBurnie is worth x a week and he thinks he is worth y. The club have to take into consideration that we are a championship club again in a state of flux and needing to re-set across the club as a whole, he has only been available for around half of the matches we have played and sat in the stands for the other half. We've probably offered about 40% of his decent PL wage and he's not overly keen on that idea, hence an impasse.
I suspect that there is room for negotiation on both sides but if not then he goes.
About time we as a club started to want value for money paid our in wages. I'm OK with OM staying as I quite like him when he's playing, but it has got to be at the right sustainable level of wages, or its a big no from me. He can either find a new club or be realistic about level of wages and his issues with availability.
The burning question is, how many games are we going to get out of him because of his fitness issues, it's already noticeable Utd are not going to hang on to players what spend more time on the treatment table. My guess is that McB wants to stay and the new owners want him to stay.
Likely they have a nice contract lined up with a sign-on bonus ready for him once the takeover goes through so makes no sense for him not to hold off.
A 15 goal Championship striker on a free transfer. YesQueuing up.

UTB
I'd hope that we are able to handle his workload better this season. Although you play more games, they aren't as mentally or physically tough in this league. The burning question is, how many games are we going to get out of him because of his fitness issues, it's already noticeable Utd are not going to hang on to players what spend more time on the treatment table.
We can't afford to do that! If he's not fit for every game then it's a total waste of money. I get most players from time to time have injury issues but Mcburnies not available for lots of games, and like I've said utd seem to be getting rid of the sicknote problems.I'd hope that we are able to handle his workload better this season. Hopefully we bring in/or bring through, a couple of players who can take the burden off him so that we don't have to play him every game.
Yes, I have read it and yeah, I'm feeling very very Smug right now hunHope you're reading this, you fucking bitch![]()
