Runs like a duck + hampered on the ball by oversized webbed feet.
One glance at him with the ball tells you he's not a footballer , so chuff knows who scouted him.
No body strength so continually resorts to fouling defenders , then cries like a baby to ref , whom he pisses off to such an extent that he never gets a decision the rest of the game.
I've searched but can't find a single attribute to admire.
I gather he has a cracking sense of humour to keep the lads laughing. Tjat is an asset definitely so do not under rate him.

why he doesn't just belt the first chance is beyond me tho, 8 yards out, loads of time, smash the ball and there's a 90% chance you score

I know it's just a random big number you've picked to indicate it was a good chance, but you'd be surprised at just how good a situation you need to be in to be 90% likely to score

How did he nearly cost us a goal ? Also, he took one for the team with the booking as they were looking to. Reak.
Not a moaner ? If you say so
Did we improve our score against a ten man promoted Lg1 team, when they were tiring, after our £20m striker came on? No! Did we play better? No. Did he miss 2 chances to score? Yes. Did he get booked? Yes! Did his misplaced pass cause us a major defensive problem? Yes. I look at the game objectively, not through misplaced hope. 3 years is too long to hope a player will get there eventually.

But but but ,
You are supposed to be
Constantly Optimistic
🙂

I'm no fan of McB but he showed some slight improvement tonight - I hope he realises he needs to play with this better attitude every game.
I hope he'll improve coz we are definitely going to need him to play his part if we want promotion.
The "if he scores" chants were sickening.

The chant was a piece of spontaneous collective genius!

It might goad him into being useful - nothing else has worked. I think many of those chanting knew that

Objectively ? LOL
Did we improve when we came on ? We did..Sunderland barely got in our half. Did other players miss chances ? Yes. Booking ? He took one for the team and stopped them breaking away so no problem there. Misplaced pass ? I don't recLl it but Messrs Egan,McAtee, Berge,Norwood and Baldock made plenty of them last night but so i wait for you analysis on thise players.

Bloody hell, he played well. Held the ball up, caused them problems. Won us throwins, free kicks & nearly scored if it hadn’t of been for a wonder save.

Is he £20m worth of a player? No, but that’s not his fault at the same time. His goals vs Brighton, West Ham & Man U literally won us points so it’s not all been bad. He’s had two stinker years but there’s still a player in there & he’s wearing our colours so back him!

This is a thread about McBurnie, not other players. Look, don't get me wrong, he was much improved compared with recent performances. I am really pleased for him about that, and long may it continue. He did fulfill a role to which I think he is suited. I am really hopeful he will continue to do so and we will get some benefit from the millions we spent on him. I just don't get the love in on here after one improved short performance. I know I'd rather have Dennis on the team who was sold for a similar fee to Forest I understand? Not 100% sure about that fact though. Well done McB, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We played well, we should have scored more, UTB.

I am not going to start throwing the confetti for McBurnie just yet. He played much better last night but remember he has the odd performance like that during a season.

Last night was the bare minimum I expect from a striker. Hopefully he can start scoring ASAP.

I think love in is going a bit far, when you take into account that 99% of Mcburnie related material on here is absolutely battering him.

I still think McB can start finding the back of the net. He has done it before in this league. Needs to work really hard to stay fit to give himself a chance of returning to form.

Well played, keep it up. We could really do with him having a good season with Bill ageing and injured, and only having Brewster and kids in reserve (one of which might go on loan). I couldn't give a shit how much a player cost, is paid or that they're here. I don't judge them on irrelevant things like that. That's on the people that signed them. Just do your best and be professional. I also don't damn players as useless forever because they haven't been good in the past. I can't believe in luck in football: Mcburnie didn't get lucky to do what he did at the dingles or Swansea. He did it because he could and hopefully still can do it. Do it again please.

McB last night showed he can put proper effort in + perform reasonably well.
What he needs to do now is build his body strength , continue to apply himself to the task + improve.
He normally slips backwards to a pattern of poor showings following one which is half decent.
Let's hope he can develop the mental attitude of constant improvement.

He need too for his own sake if nothing else. He's playing for his next contract.

Mcburnie was far from great last night, average championship striker performance for the 15 mins or so he was on but that said he was way better than brewster who looked completely flat .... can't believe these two jokers cost us £40m
