That’s not the same as always trusting scouts and coaches. People are fallible and all teams make huge mistakes based on preconceptions, small sample sizes, games against your team, agents being persuasive etcWhat I meant was, the scouts had watched him loads and decided he was the player for us.
It seems he was written off after 45mins of his first ever game in professional league football.
I think McAtee deserves the credit mostly. He changed his game and accepted coaching
