🤣🤣🤣🤣 He’d be a reserve here to Enda! Jesus wept man. You’re prepared to pay a kid from a 3rd division club more for sitting on his arse than a fella that’s given us 7-8/10 every week for 3 seasons?
A little perspective thank you.
50k a week is insane for a footballer who will be a ‘back up’ to what we have.

Think positive we are looking to Cash to help with scoring more goals, Villa need to stop goals. We are in a better shape than a lot of Premier League teams. I trust the staff at the lane to bring in the right players. Enjoy hitting refresh everyone.

I’m not one for copying and pasting Athletic pieces, but in the comments of a piece their Forest correspondent has done on the Freeman deal he responds to a question on Cash with the following. Seems like wages/fee aren’t the only issue.

Fail to see the relevance of mentioning his ambition and chance of success to then follow it up with him wanting to move to Villa

Footballing wise we're the best place for him to be (unless Wolves come in for him). He'd be joining one of the best defences in the league with a license yo attack as a wing back.
He also wouldn't have to relocate from his current home to play with us.
However, he can probably only expect 60% of the salary relative to offers from others.

Aston Villa & Fulham will pay him the big bucks and alas that is what really decides these moves. His agent will want his cut.

I'm going to stick my neck out now and say this guy won't make it at premier league Level
Too slight and I've seen him play about half a dozen times and not been that impressed

I'm bored of this transfer now, pretty sure Wilder has got his plan B lined up.
Exactly, and if those are Cash’s thoughts on this move, we have already moved on.
This is said without any bitterness to him for whatever decision he makes, but out of the three we would be the best move for his career and he’s all wrong for Villa unless they are completely restructuring their side and style of play.

If it did then the exchange would have been announced when Freeman went out. There's no way we'd have let Luke Freeman go out first and just trust Forest to sell us Matt Cash.

Maybe a permanent transfer takes a bit longer to push through? Wilder said he's confident of incomings this week would not be surprised to see Cash walk through the door.

Not wanting to speak for Bruce Wayne but I don’t think he’s meaning formally, ie the deal is done, as other interested clubs may appeal more to the player or someone could just come in and drop £20m on the table.
He means there’s an agreement between the clubs thats linked to the Freeman deal which could impact them favourably if everything is given the green light with Cash.

Been obvious we were out of the equation for a week or so on this - similar to the Robinson signing once Fulham went on with stupid money (the last week or so was all confirming it at that end).

The move is fair enough for cash - more money, doesn’t need to move house and villa will probably stop up next season.

But From villas point of vieW - seems an odd singing given they only stayed up once they had learned how to defend post lock down. Seems strange they would want to pop a hugely attacking right back into the equation.... but hay ho.

Am I the only one finding the bitterness towards Villa and Fulham a bit childish now? Frustrating maybe but generally speaking we wouldn't have a problem if we offered more wages than another club for a player Wilder really wanted.
I agree
It’s not as if either of those two have signed (m)any players let alone ones that people are guessing CW wanted.
Judge all 3 teams in mid October

Anymore ??
We've just got 132 million quid and will get similar next year, we definitley wont if we stand still and get relegated

Aye,
So have the other 19 (give or take a couple of million), plus:
We spent a significant amount of our 'summer budget' in January
We've just signed up for a 30 million mortgage
We're committed to developing & funding Shirecliffe
Our income streams are significantly compromised ( like the other 19 to a greater or lesser extent)
We've been agreeing / arranging significant uplifts in contracts

Not sure 132 million ( or even 264) goes as far as you may envisage

Maybe BBC Radio Notts called it right. If a fee was agreed along with personal terms you'd expect this to be done by now.
The last SkySports reported was that Villa had had a £10m bid rejected...

Problem is, as soon as a club like Aston Villa come calling that's us out the race.

What you mean is Villa club that just throws money around till they get what they want, let him go there at least with them he'll be neared to Forest in bottom 3. Villa are one of a bunch of teams that got to the PL by the obvious breaking of FFP but, they'll get away with it as FFP is not worth the paper it's written on.
