Get a grip mate. Our players in the squad that aren't White just aren't good enough for the 1st team 11.
 



As someone said before it's probably that seed of doubt planted by a Derby fan months back.

Personally I really like Hill and I think he'd be a decent squad player as he can cover two positions but if we've got someone lined up then fine.

Danny Wilson is a racist!!!

He removed all black players from our squad resulting in David Weir being forced to sign Taylor and Brandy. He knew that we would be viewed on the lack of black players so needed to address the issue. To be fair to David Weir, he tried signing good black players like Lukaku and Willian for these positions but they opted for Everton & Chelsea respectively.

Nigel Clough then came in and thought fuck this shit. They're wank, i don't care what colour they are, they're wank. Having said that, he also sent Cuvelier out for being Belgian & McGinty out for being Irish.. Racist twat
 
I heard that Matt had a slight calf strain and that is why he did not play last night

It makes it very hard for threads to remain open because people end up saying something silly and I immediately lose any respect I might have previously had for them.
 
Matt Hill has rarely let us down defensively. He's had better games at centre-back than left back in my opinion but he is limited using the ball going forwards.

I personally like him, obviously a "good pro" well liked in the squad. Cloughie has praised him on occasions this season.

He's good with the fans, I've seen him engaging fans before games.

He won't be going to Bristol, he answered someone on twitter saying his kids are settled in school and he'd be staying up north whatever.

I personally think we should release him and work on a stronger squad but I'll be sad to see him go - he's one of life's good guys.

Have a look at our squad from a few years ago, very few stay for more than a few years. That's modern football, time to move on.

This is surely a wind up, what complete and utter crap. What's to say hills replacement won't be black. I for one don't care, as long as he ain't blue and white. I can only assume that you are so pissed off at the idea if some positivity down at the lane you are struggling for something to moan about. Now you come to mention it though I notice we haven't got a ginger haired Asian woman up front either, maybe he is a wee bit prejudiced :/
 
It's funny how our fans savour Porter's mediocrity, but groan about Matt Hill. If we release him, we will lose fairly reliable cover for LB & CB. That said if he is a relatively big earner, perhaps we have a cheaper option in Kennedy for CB & free up some funds for the summer.

Fair well Matt Hill; your attitude and under appreciated, steady performances wasn't wasted on all of us.

Sorry Jaff the Porter thing is bollocks. Scored again last night and while no one is saying he is first pick if we can have a bloke scoring eleven goals off the bench next season we will be very happy.

Hill is probably in the same bag and has never in my experience let us down. First pick probably not but unless we are thinking of signing 10 players there may be a need for him throughout a season.

I agree with the sentiment but I think there's been a softening towards Matt Hill in recent weeks, a lot of people recognise his value as a squad player.
 
Come on guys...the bloke is 33 and was never 'the greatest' was he?

Still, he'll go down as a 'mini-legend' in my eyes for his attitude, application and 'that' game v Udders where I thought he played 'out of skin' ;D
 
He always had time for fans at the end of a match even when we'd been beat. Sometimes he'd be the only one to come over, too. I'll not pretend he didn't have shortcomings and that a team aspiring to automatic could probably do better but I appreciate his time here.
 
I just can't get this never let us down , he has cost countless goals and points, he gets away with being an average stopper at centre half because he's a nice guy. Compare his ability with a football to the other defenders. He is not good enough.

countless? I would say maybe a few. Are you saying he cost us points on more than 5 occasions? Are you sure you are not exaggerating? If it was me I would not offer him a new contract but I think he did a steady and reliable defending role for us since he signed for us but he didnt really offer much attacking wise and next season we are looking for automatic promotion so Matt goes elsewhere with my best wishes
 
I would say 5 this season probably. He really is a poor left back, positionally and ability wise.I wish him well and agree he's a nice guy but it's not something I have just noticed, I have never rated him as a player.right from his debut at Walsall.

His return of goals this season is 'OK'. But as I said about Hill/salary, the same applies to Porter. If we release Porter, Miller & Hill we should free up some budget for better players.

Hypothetical question; would you be happy to release Porter if it meant signing someone like Aneke, Wilson or even Sharp as replacement?

Oh if only it worked like that. What I would like to see is us sign quality before releasing players not the other way around.
 



Matt Hill = Scapegoat. After all, it can't be that people just don't think he's good enough, can it?:p

I actually think he's a reasonable defender, but woefull on the ball. We must do better.
