Wilder said in an interview that he would definitely sign players to fit the system, i.e. not change the system to fit the players available.

Which formation(s) was used yesterday?

Cheers, couldn't get to that game, interesting to hear who played

Cheers, I was questioning that as well, how did both keepers look? I have only seen Ramsdale a few times, not sure I have seen Eastwood?

Was it a bit awkward with Reed on the left? I would have expected Done and DCL to flank McNulty with that XI, and Wallace, Whiteman and Reed centrally.

Tbf mate I was at the other end of the ground at pitch level so it was hard to tell clear formation.

I'm going on most of the time I saw Reid with the ball he was to the left

We pushed up a lot so it quite easily have been 4 1 5

Cheers fella, just looked at that, nice long range effort from Matt Done
yh was really good the type of quality he used put in his shots at rochdale and when he first signed with us

I couldn't get to the game, but it seemed that Hussey had a hand in at least 2/3 of the goals. That apart, did he play well?

I know it's too early to make considered judgements, but from the little I could see it was refreshing to see we have two fullbacks who can add to our potency up front.

Hussey started poor but ran things on the left later on

If Duffy plays on the left we are very strong on that side

If we don't get a good right winger then I'd be tempted to play Duffy on the right to balance the attacking threat

Brayford, trialist,o'conell ,hussey . The 3 in mid was left side Reid Wallace in the centre and
They way we pushed up it could have been anything to be fair.

Either way it was better than the sideways passing of previous seasons
Yes 2nd half Duffy scooogs and che all kept swapping around but I thought both full backs Freeman and Wallace were poor .

An advantage of having someone like Duffy who can play on either side is that we can focus on signing the best winger we can, whether he's right sided or left sided, and use Duffy accordingly. Unless Wilder is set on having a left footed player on the left, which I would prefer but due to Hussey's attacking qualities isn't imperative.

I expect a lot of swapping and roaming within that formation, but having a right footer on the left, and right footer on the left can give a better goal threat from those positions. As you say overlapping, attacking full backs are important in such a set up. Done starting on the right and DCL on the left was quite what I thought Wilder would try with that selection.

Weren't Preston sniffing around Done towards end of season? Can't remember whether I read that on here or heard it elsewhere or am completely making it up

Who to play in front of Brayford ? Coutts ,Basham and Freeman could all do it and have played well there. Not a lot of crosses but lot of opportunity for Brayford to show how good he is overlapping with any of them ,all could interlink with him. This is what friendlies should be used for ,finding the best combination.

The few good games Coutts has had with us, seem predominately to be from the right hand side linking up with Brayford. Certainly another option
