Someone put a pic of the pitch in twitter as it was a few hours ago. Looks very soft but snowless.Bramall lane.png

id have the door slammed shut before she took off her mittens.

I'd have the door shut and be about three miles away from the door :D

SEB's missus is a lovely lady, but I don't think I'd want to be on the wrong side of her. She's nails.

We could bugger this football lark and undertake a bit of trench warfare to decide the result.

Snow update: snowing again. Still nowt major but I can't see town from our back window any more so I think there's a fair bit to fall.

The pitch, a bit ago:

Forcast I've seen:

Forcast for centre of Sheffield is anything up to 7inches. Upto 15inches as you head out to the pennines. Strong wind could cause blizzard conditions with the potential for drifts.

This is from the met office, via our public sector ;)

United should be taking legal action against those anti Utd wankers Walker and Foster who both said on Radio Sheffield there would absolutely no chance of the game taking place.

In s8 it is getting very deep. Last few hours really come down. 2-3 inches in last hour. Sadly a few more hours of this will seal it. For those planning to come long distances i wouldnt. Seriously. Be staggered if game goes ahead. If it aint the snow it will be waterlogged. . Oh well another free week.

I'm getting twitchy about not getting my Friday night curry if Foxy doesn't get a wriggle on... and that's down in S8 9. Usually even more fun up the hill in S8 8.

Just seen a tweet from Travelsouthyorkshire about buses being taken off out in the sticks too - Penistone, Chap and Stocky.

Just thinking about possible rearranged dates, and on another thread it was suggested that next week (as in Monday or Tuesday coming up) were the ony available dates, but having just studied the fixture list, is there any reason why it couldn't be played on Tuesday 9th April?

Aren't we already playing Crawley that day?

Edit: Ah no, Crawley's the week after. 9th is free.

brentford play crewe away the day after according to what im looking at it. and cant move that cos crewe have games every midweek already. i never understand why you get week after week of no midweek games in the first half of the season, then end up with half the league having 9 games to play with one month of the season left. happens every year.

if we all fancy rearranging rearranged matches, we could play crawley on the 9th and brentford on the 16th. yeah thatd work.

I'm sure they could slot another couple into August/September before we get the Johnstones Paint getting in the way but you don't normally have to be thinking about postponing matches in March because of bad weather.

we do now, since the world started falling apart from all the air fresheners! whoever invented the johnstones feckin tinpot feckin thing wants a good doing over. feckin. if we really need to play that shite, why not have it before the season starts? or at least some of it. could easily get 3 rounds of that nonsense out the way pre-season to free up dates. who do i need to email?!?

I've just mentioned it on Facebook... but surely the Government scientists could do that thing they did during the Olympics which made the weather nice (well.. reasonable) that no one's supposed to know about?

Crossing their fingers and praying really hard?

Referee happy with the pitch at present, a pitch inspection at 8.30am tomorrow.
