I can´t imagine him saying that.. I can imagine him looking at the clubs he mentioned though but apparently SUFC was more tempting.

I think he is more interested in a club that has a big history, and if he can make it bigger by investment, then so his personal social standing increases with it.

This is all about him getting on a wider public stage.

And if United can benefit from it, I have no problems. - Although he has made it clear he is a businessman so any similarity to Man City is out.

So it had nowt to do with him picking up half the football club for a quid then?

Saudis' are shrewd and 'honest' businessmen, if you are suggesting that his investment won't come, then I think you are wrong

And taking on half the debts. This guy has already given interviews stating that he means business & wont rest until we are back in the Premiership. Failure wont be in this guys vocab. And i think if people at the club arnt upto the job then he will get someone who will be. And i think that would also include the manager.

Harry Redknapp?:)

Seriously I think we need one type of manager to get us out of this league and into the Championship and another 'footballing type' to get us into the Prem and keep us there.

Getting good players in the Championship who can step up to the PL is what is required so that we can compete with those yo-yo ex PL clubs still with 'loadsamoney' through parachute payments (and possibly some of their ex PL players).

He hasn't took on a penny of debt. That was one of his conditions of investment

I think his name is your best guarantee, if he ever disgraces the family name he´ll find himself in front of the king himself trying to explain what happened and his peers will give their judgement on him..and there´s no appeal in that situation

I didn't say that

You suggested he might be more interested in the Blades over championship clubs due to our history. I am suggesting otherwise that his main interest might be because he picked half the club up for a quid.

And........he hasn't taken on half the debt, he's insisted McCabe cleared the debt before he would agree to come on board

No one knows on here the level of investment he will commit to, but I hope it is substantial.

Accounts aint my strong point but there's been a suggestion from a blade (works in finance) that his investment will become the clubs debt, which I don't understand?

McCabe clears the debt
HRH buys 50% of the club for a quid
HRH loans the club the investment
The club are in debt?

Seems like a win win for HRH to me

Talk about trying to make a negative out of a positive.

I think your friend thought about the setup clubs like Man City and Chelsea use..Where money is borrowed from an owner/investor during the season and the debt converted to equity by the end of the financial year.

If debt is converted to equity (similar to what McCabe did ... .... .... I think?) then that I believe is fine. As I say, I know little about accounts

Btw, you a City fan?

Nice one!

A Wendy workmate of mine is always critical of McCabe saying things like "he isnt really interested in your club, he only wants the money" . As the Prince said that he looked at all the Championship clubs it is obvious that he could see that McCabe cares more about SUFC and Mandaric cares more about the money

So what you're saying here is that you think that McCabe has written off his loans to the club, to sell half the stake to the Prince to then allow the prince to loan money to the club?

This is up there in terms of gob smacking posts

Let us now see if Mandy is willing to write off the money Wednesday now owe him to then sell half his stake in the club for £1. Yes Mandy, you can also have the freehold.

Never happen
