"Sheffield United are leading the race to sign Livingston striker Marc McNulty, Sky Sports understands.
Nigel Clough is keen to lure the highly-rated McNulty to Bramall Lane and the Blades are thought to have made contact with Livingston.
Livingston are resigned to losing the 21-year-old this summer with a host of clubs credited with an interest in his services.
The likes of Rangers, Birmingham City, Aberdeen and Dundee United have all been tracking McNulty, but Sheffield United are in pole position to land the forward.
Clough is a long-term admirer having tried to sign the player when he was in charge of Derby County, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.
United are thought to be trying to thrash out a fee with Livingston as they look to reunite McNulty with former team-mate Stefan Scougall."

Sounds feasible, especially given Clough's recent comments about signing someone to play with Scougall.
