I don't think it is in the slightest. Any time he had the ball today he never looked to do anything apart from play the simplest ball possible, usually to the excessively deep centre mid of the week (this time it was Rothwell, oddly), never looked to move forward with the ball or make any sort of pass which would allow for a quick break. He is an old school centre back. Nothing more, nothing less. There's a place for that and it's not the Championship
Why would it not be in the championship?
I'd much rather him know his limitations and play the simple pass rather than trying something he's not comfortable with. His pass success rate was high, I don't want my centre halves thinking they're deep lying playmakers. When our players (Peck) who are supposed to be those players are giving away sloppy square passes that lead to the opposition scoring, I'm glad my centre half plays it safe and does his primary role.

Did ok. Perfectly fine option if all he’s got to do is battle a big lump, head it and boot it.

Don’t ask him to help with build up, or play through a press (cough Selles cough)

Transfermarkt is a decent resource for basic player stats, but for actual player/transfer values, it's utterly worthless

Fee was reportedly £4 to £5m, even that's ridiculous....and a 4-year deal to boot!

From what I’ve seen that should be the combined fee for both McGuinness and Chong, which is not great but is slightly better.

It’s the fee Luton would have paid if all his add ons had been met in the transfer before ours they’ve got muddled up. That fee was reported at 10m plus add ons

We paid something in the region of 3.5m for him, 2.5 for Chong and 1m for matos

At least that’s what the forum accountants said when the last accounts were dissected anyways

Think it was detailed in the accounts that came out after the transfers. Can't remember exactly but it certainly wasn't the ten million amount.

In other news Star think we are willing to sell him...

Let's see if we can get any takers!

Berkshire Blade, I was suprised to read that earlier along with Zatterstrome and Baptiste has jumped in front of those.
Personally I'd like to see Zatterstrome being given a chance, it just seems to Wilder doesn't like him lol

If rumours from Roygbiv are correct never do his teammates! Granted it's a high level but he couldn't get a look a in Italy either.

mcguinness just isnt good enough for a team with top 6 aspirations although we could just about get away with him if we played a back 3 not much hope i know but i would like us to bring harry souttar and jimmy dunne in and if it means selling peck to fund these 2 im in ⚔️⚔️⚔️

He’s fine for mid champ which is what we are we aren’t going to get better maybe he’s just paid too much

I hope Wilder singles out Mcguiness for praise this evening. It can't be nice to be publicly told you aren't wanted. Two games and two excellent performances shows he has plenty of character.
He has said his attitude has been outstanding, but yeah it'd be good to hear him praise today's performance as well.
