He makes it sound like it's done with another club. It won't be. There's still time yet and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we signed him. He's the most direct Brooks replacement out there.

I hope that Wilders "new bid" is for Maddison, especially with the tweet that their chairman made which Finchley Blade copied in. We obviously have some interest or why would Wilder ask what the price was!

Now I'm not saying the deal is on but I just want to point out that if someone can't even keep a story straight on their own twitter account where he has an opportunity to think everything through and write down for the whole world to see then I sure as fuck don't see them as a reliable source of information.

I'm more inclined to see them as a grubby little bullshit merchant who is just putting up any old bollocks on the internet for the sole purpose of driving up a player's price.

People misinterpreting what the P'boro Chairman said on Twitter, culminating with an idiot even accusing him of lying.

CW has not and most probably will not express an interest in Maddision. Why so many are clamouring for him to be signed despite him never having played above L1 and there being many stories about his, shall we say, questionable attitude, I really don't know.

Just tweet the Peterborough chairman. He'll happily tell you. Or even ask if we've enquired. Last time someone did he openly said we hadn't asked about him

He would be the most sensible signing we could make in my view and at 2.5m, a snip considering what we got for Brooks and what Waghorn is costing Derby.

Has got pretty much a 1 in 4 strike rate at Pererboro.

He can play left back, left wingback or attacking midfield.

That gives us two varied formations without changing personnel due to his flexibility:

Henderson
Basham/Egan/Stearman (2/3) O’Connell
Baldock Evans Fleck Maddison
Duffy
Woodburn Clarke/Sharp/McGoldrick (1/3)

Or

Henderson
Baldock Egan Stearman O’Connell
Evans/Basham Fleck
Duffy Woodburn Maddison
Clarke/Sharp/McGoldrick (1/3)

I’ve long advocated it would be cheaper to go one up top and get the attacking midfielders in as they will Be more cost effective. Instead of seeing just three strikers for Two positions, you’ve got three for one, all of which form aside are experienced at this level.

He’s the sort we should have got in the day after Brooks’ sale, though we usually just see pound signs and thoughts of a replacement become tomorrow’s job.

I’m struggling to see a valid reason we would not go for him unless Chris is adamant he’s not good enough.
 
Just imagine, after watching that ‘performance’ against Boro, then listening to CW say there’s no one out there that improves us for what we can afford... Maddison and Freeman go for a combined fee of £6.5m. Doh!

Window shuts end of month

After these two loans, CW says he hopes for one more and then that will be it

No problems there as the window shuts until Jan and at least one of those loans, possibly even two will become permanent when the window next opens and we can go again if needs be

In my view yes, but Wilder seems to have gone cool on League One players of late, or maybe he doesn't think there's value in some of the players that he would be interested in from League One. Posh always get a high fee for their players too. Whatever Wilder does we know he'll get it right to be fair!
 
Heard from a reliable source this is a done deal, just over 1m, however not heard anything since just before start of the window

Just telling you what I’ve heard from a mate, not gonna say it’s 100% due to his personal situation looking at his social media but felt I may as well stick it on here!

I’ve bewn on this website as a guest for a couple of years just never felt the need to make an account until now mate haha, but I’m by no means an ITK specialist
