Just spotted that, scored against us for Blackpool a few weeks ago. The locals said he was OK without being anything special.

Aren't we now going down the same route with more loan players!
We can only have so many in the team
Forgive me I have lost count but:
Walker, Harper, on season long loans
Bunn, Seip, now on loan till end of season
Whats happened to Ikeme?
Now talking of loaning Tonge, Halford !!!
Unfortunately Cresswell appears to be a 'permanant' signing
Treacey, Kallio and Davies gone back
Its all confusing and can't be good for team morale!!!
But again, its the cheap option.
Should we change our name to the Loan Rangers FC

Blackie said a few weeks ago he wanted to bring permanents in and here we are with 2 loans already. I would imagine any deal for Killa could involve a player coming the other way so that could go either way but I'd expect it to be another loan.

I guess at the end of the day we may as well take loans for 1st teamers rather than two or three permies to sit in the reserves.

prem whipping boys... deflated team without identity until you buy a big name to keep you in the prem... putting pressure on the 'not good enough' squad to perform... and an easy escape goal if either dont perform...

By all accounts I have heard he is a decent prospect. He left Plymouth after a bust up with Sturrock and said he would never play for him again. He has been in the Blackpool team this season until he suffered a hamstring injury. The Plymouth Fans describe him as a tough tackling defender who reads the game well. Lets hope he does well!

I hear from a source based near Plymouth that there may be a a Blade going the other way, probably Reid.

TB.

Tough tackling defender -Who does that remind you of!
Dingles won't be happy:thumbup:

Has spent most of the season on loan at Blackpool after falling out with Luggy at Plymouth. However it seems he's also the son in law of their vice chairman as well...

Just been looking at the Tangerine's forums and they seemed to rate him....

How many loan players did Stoke have when they were promoted? As far as I can tell they had at least five, although several of these were signed permanently in Jan or at the end of the season. They seemed to do alright in the Prem though.

Fiery, you're right it is the cheap option, but we do need defensive cover and a keeper as we get Paddy back in April.

I agree that its confusing for us, but I don't know its bad for morale.

But I don't understand how were in this situation. One or two loanees is fine, but a 3 mill striker and the rest in aged frees or loans doesn't add up.

I don't know who's to blame, but I'd rather see us trying to show a bit of confidence in a very very average league and build a squad we can get up with.

I'd like to see us get 2-3 permanents in as well as getting those here already tied up in contracts - Killa, Monty etc

my guess is that our wage bill is far too large and most players are vastly overpaid in today's market. The club are waiting until these contracts are re negotiated before committing funds to permanent deals.

I'm with you on this one Swiss !

I see loanees as either very promising youngsters from the Top 4 such as Cleverley, Simpson, etc or more mature players not getting a gig in the Premier with a view to a permanent signing ( By the way I would not put Cresswell in this category more a has been that is not capable of a gig in the Premier League = complete waste of money)
Blackwell moans and groans about the number of players making their debuts this year- Bit of a clue sign one or two permanently then they wouldn't go back to their own clubs!

Perhaps Blackie moans because his hands are tied? We don't know.

Yes Blackie has brought the loanees in, he's the manager, but we don't know who's decision it was to go down this route.

Personally I think Blackie would be much happier with a settled squad.

But Injuries and loanees and loanees to cover the injured loanees have meant that we're in this situation.

The main thing now is to get a squad together capable of making the play offs and that will be with us from Jan to May.

We'll restrict ourselves if we play all our loan cards now so we need a couple of permanents in.

From Paul Marriner...

"Marcel is delighted with the move. Sheffield United are a very good team, a very strong team and he's going to a great staff with Kevin Blackwell and Gary Speed, so it's best for both of us."

It's the 'and Gary Speed' bit that is interesting. What duties does Sam Ellis have at the Lane now? If any?

Interesting name: 'Seip' is 'pies' spelled backwards. Appropriate that Blackpool's shirt sponsor is Ginsters.

Loanees aren't ideal, but how much would it cost to replace Kilgallon? £3-4m and more wages than we can afford? And that's if the player existed.

I've more issue with Blackwell signing up below-par squad players on loan.

Am i wrong in suggesting that season long loans don't count in the 5 loan players in the squad?

I also heard we'd sent Davies & Kallio back to discuss permanent deals??

Regarding Halford - definately take him back and Tonge, maybe on loan or cut price.

We still need another centre-half don't we? Maybe it will be Davies.

Seip sounds like a Warnock type of signing if he scores against you sign him.Makes it easy for the scouts.

ha, thats a very good observation, I hope he has an appetite for success and goes down well with the fans. Lets not make a meal out of it being another loan. I heard he formed a good partnership with TNIP so maybe he could be an option I just wish we would go all out and get PIHC YTTUB in.
