When we signed Hulse 13 years ago, for what seemed at the time to be a highish fee (£2.2m possibly rising to £3m) for what we were getting, there was much grumbling on the messageboards, and grumbling in the stands at Greenock Morton when we played the evening the transfer was arranged. On the face of it was a player that while they’d done ok below the PL, had a record of 5 games and no goals at PL level with West Brom the only season he’d been there previously.

What we ultimately got was a player that perfectly fitted our needs at the time, and who very quickly looked every part a Premier League player. He was not everyone’s choice as a signing, but frankly as soon as fans saw him in the Liverpool game they didn’t need any further convincing that it was an astute piece of business. Hopefully we’re seeing something similar with Mousset in terms of Wilder feeling he will perform better in our system than he has done previously.

It's funny this one as looking at clips of the lad he's exactly the kind of edge of the seat type player that blades fans normally get behind .maybe because we have had so many that flattered to device we can't do it anymore

Is that Darren that was on here (or perhaps Bladesmad) but left because of the abuse he got cos he didn't get one right?

No idea I was just pointing out a fact that it was on twitter first. Even though everyone said it wasn’t.

Wouldn't Marvin Johnson be seen as a success if you are going to set the bar that low?
For some, yes. For me, no.

Marvin Johnson never looked comfortable on a football pitch. Error prone and couldn’t handle the pressure of a large crowd. I appreciate he was involved in the win at West Brom but even then he stood out as the weak link.

I predicted he wouldn’t play another minute for us after the Bristol City home game. He didn’t.

He almost cost us promotion rather than playing his part towards it.

The last line says it all.

His notable impacts were overwhelmingly negative. No footballing brain at all - and that stood out like a sore thumb in a team full of intelligent footballers

What did Washington do? He had little to no impact on the season, he was a free transfer so I don't think anyone had high expectations, but you can't class him any better than Johnson.

MOUSSET SET FOR MEDICAL
Bournemouth forward Lys Mousset is presently on route to South Yorkshire for a medical ahead of a £9m move to Sheffield United.

Qualitys signing obviously has clear talent , theres no way we would be able to sign him if he actually was given a chance at bournemouth and banged in even ten goals.

Much the same with brooks we could see he had clear talent but didnt fit in our team

How fans choose to pronounce his name may impact on his go-to song on the Kop.

Current odds:
Ode to Nade (Ole Ole Ole Ole...Mousset, Mousset) 8/11
Ode to Gus (Moooooooooooooooooooousse) 1/1
I Like To Mousset Mousset 6/1

Not sure if this has been posted already but I think there’s a good chance that Moussett is coming in instead of the last payment for Brooks.
Good gamble by us as if he scores double figures he’ll be worth £30m overnight and if it doesn’t work out then we aren’t exactly in need of the last bit of Brooks money now we’re in the prem.

I sincerely hope it’s sung to the theme tune from Allo Allo
