Perfect would have been Sky not fucking with the fixtures and it being sealed 10 minutes in to the game at Wembley, with 30,000 drunken Blades fans celebrating and not caring how many goals Haaland has already got.

If it’s a draw then we are basically up, we don’t have to go out and attack teams now meaning Preston/Birmingham etc will just sit and take point imo

Since 3 points for win came in in 81-2, we have only got less than 3 points in our last 4 games in 84-5, 97-8 04-05, and 12-13.

84-5 we struggled against relegation from tier 2,but luckily there were 3 teams even more shit than us and we were pretty much safe by mid April. As such. We kind of gave up and in our last 4 games. Lost 2-0 at Man City, lost 1-0 and 3-1 at home to Shrewsbury and Blackburn thed drew 2-2 at Huddersfield to finish 18th.

97-8, we looked a shoe in for the play offs, but then did our best to mess it up, losing 4-2 at home to WBA,drawing 3-3 at Tranmere and then losing 2-1 and 1-0 at Crewe and Stockport. We scraped into the play offs on goals scored after Birmingham failed win their last game.

Again in 04-05, we were looking good for the play offs, but proceeded to self destruct. Losing 1-0 at home to Derby, drawing 0-0 at Watford, then losing 1-0 at home to Millwall and 4-2 at Wolves to finish 8th.

12-13 saw us still in the hunt for automatic promotion in early April. But then Wilson got sacked after we lost to Crawley and Morgan put in charge. Though he won his face game, we then drew 2-2 home to Brentford, lost 3-0 at relegated Portsmouth and 1-0 at Crewe. Finishing with a 0-0 draw at home to Preston and sliding pathetically into the play offs where we lost to the might of Yeovil.

Not gonna happen this season.

Forgot Forest missed out on the play offs a few years ago despite only needing a point from their last four games. Then there had to be a 5 goal swing in the last game for Swansea to overtake them, a Brewster wonder goal helped them do it.

The thing to consider now is Luton and Boro's consideration of the playoffs, either of them lose Carlton Morris, Akpom et Al now they seriously dent their playoffs chances.

They now have to go into self preservation mode. I understand momentum and the need to be firing for the playoffs, but the devil on the shoulder is an injury.

The players will feel this as well, none will want to miss the chance to play at Wembley and potentially secure promotion.

Mentality at this stage of the season is huge...

Yet to hear some of us, and the “manager of the year” panel, were bottom half sleep walking towards relegation

did any of you blades witness the second half vs hull? forss and smith got injured just before half time. second half jones and dijksteel came on the right side. suddenly we looked brilliant. they couldnt handle us at all. crooks and chuba could of had second half hattricks from jones cut backs. paddy mcnightmare went off and howson dropped into defence and he looked a miles better cb than paddy. which isnt hard but. with them 3 subs it totally removed all out weaknesses. well the ones that are really noticeable. better sides would exploit the lack of pace in midfield with crooks and mowett in there. mcgree, ramsey and fry all still injured.

haha we had 7 on target i think. 21 total. i lost interestin you when we lost to hudders to. proper depressing result that. auto chances totally over after a defeat like that.

jones has has a lot of difficulty in his personal life. he missus just had a kid a month or so ago. thats all we know, maybe they had a difficult time of it. anyway he lost the ability to control the ball earlier in the season. you could see his head wasnt right. but hes back now. totally fresh and looking fired up.
