Of course a draw would be perfect, but I would rather Luton win on Monday than Middlesbrough. I can see Middlesbrough winning all their remaining games this season, when they are in form it is difficult to stop them.

Logical brain says a draw, to seal promotion.

Emotional brain says a win to either, so we can seal the deal with a home win against WBA.

at home yes away not so much
we have now earnt more points than them this calendar year
so if you think they can win all their games we must be a shoe in

I get your thinking, we only need two draws regardless what Boro do, as others have said I think we are up regardless but if the biggest fuckup in the history of this club was to happen then I can see why you fear Boro

famous last words! If we get a couple of injuries/red cards at wembley we could very well eff it up in true Blades style
deary me ,,,,, astounding thought processes

true blades style
unless 6 get arrested and sent to jail for rape rapidly theres no reason for us to fail
tell me in the past 7 seasons when we have fucked it up
relegation from the prem always possible to clubs with poor funds
but
league 1 champions
10th 1st season back in championship
auto promotion from championship
9th in the prem with crowds in
relegated with empty soulless stadia
championship 5th play offs
championship runners up

now thats the current blades way

Luton v Boro draw won't officially seal it, although Luton would need a 12 goal swing. But then we would only need to draw v West Brom...that will all do for me...get it done with 3 games to spare, no final day drama required, leave that to the play-off chasers...

Since 3 points for win came in in 81-2, we have only got less than 3 points in our last 4 games in 84-5, 97-8 04-05, and 12-13.

84-5 we struggled against relegation from tier 2,but luckily there were 3 teams even more shit than us and we were pretty much safe by mid April. As such. We kind of gave up and in our last 4 games. Lost 2-0 at Man City, lost 1-0 and 3-1 at home to Shrewsbury and Blackburn thed drew 2-2 at Huddersfield to finish 18th.

97-8, we looked a shoe in for the play offs, but then did our best to mess it up, losing 4-2 at home to WBA,drawing 3-3 at Tranmere and then losing 2-1 and 1-0 at Crewe and Stockport. We scraped into the play offs on goals scored after Birmingham failed win their last game.

Again in 04-05, we were looking good for the play offs, but proceeded to self destruct. Losing 1-0 at home to Derby, drawing 0-0 at Watford, then losing 1-0 at home to Millwall and 4-2 at Wolves to finish 8th.

12-13 saw us still in the hunt for automatic promotion in early April. But then Wilson got sacked after we lost to Crawley and Morgan put in charge. Though he won his face game, we then drew 2-2 home to Brentford, lost 3-0 at relegated Portsmouth and 1-0 at Crewe. Finishing with a 0-0 draw at home to Preston and sliding pathetically into the play offs where we lost to the might of Yeovil.

Not gonna happen this season.

Luton have a really tough set of fixtures, there's no way they are winning them all.
Boro have a better chance to win them all but it's unlikely.

We might have enough points already, however I reckon 1 or 2 points should be enough.

There's as much chance us pipping Burnley to become Champions than there is Luton or Boro pipping us.
Basically it's over, Burnley have won the league and we are promoted.

Draw has to be the best result.

Beggars can't be choosers but after the last two Prem promotions, it would be nice to actually do it ourselves at a game.

last night at about 9pm both Luton and Boro were losing we are up
2minutes later all changed
life can be so cruel
UTB hopefully

I agree BUT if they did end up on the same points, we would have lost 3 and they would have won 2, so a 12 goal swing wouldn’t be unrealistic.
There'd have to be a couple of 3-0 wins / losses for that to happen. If Luton won both their final games 2-0 and we lose our final games 0-2, that's only a ten goal swing. Even if they made up the 12 goal swing we'd still be above them on goals scored. They'd need a 13 goal swing due to goals scored.

It's strange to think we could quite easily lose all our last 4 games and still be promoted automatically having lost 14 games.

I want that P by our name on the league table as soon as possible so I hope they draw.

I’d then like Luton to come up through the play offs. They’ve done really well since getting up to the championship. They’re probably less likely to do well in the prem compared to boro. Boros fans have come across as a set of arrogant twats for a lot of the season so fuck em.
