Rest in peace Luton ,absolutely heartbreaking.Once a Blade ........

RIP Luton - my main memory being on the away end at Old Trafford and watching him terrorise the Man Utd defence. I think he had a lot of talent that we didn't necessarily see the best of at Bramall Lane. His last few years were clearly absolutely horrific, MND is a savage condition and I feel much sympathy for Luton and his family.

RIP Blade & Jamaica record goalscorer.

RIP Luton, a much better player than Blades fans got the chance to see. He tormented Man Utd at Old Trafford and who knows what may have happened to our season and consequent history, if he'd got the deserved penalty and got Heinze sent off. I will also remember him having a great game when we knocked Man City out of the cup the following season. The style of play under Robson was far to pedestrian for Luton, who had little space to run into.

He did well in Norway after leaving us and will also remembered for his goals for his country. Pep Guardiola praised him after Luton ran circles around Barcelona defenders in a friendly in 2010, being quoted "is he the son of Usain Bolt".

In the mid 2000s I was in touch with one of the United coaches, helping them out with players based in Scandinavia. In the autumn of 2006 I sent the coach a recorded VHS cassette of Helsingborg vs Brann. Luton scored two goals in that game and I told them he was raw, but was the fastest player I'd ever seen. Not sure if it played a part, but a couple of months later he'd been signed. A shame it didn't really work out at the Lane, but he had a good career.

Horrible news, horrible disease.

RIP Luton

Rob Styles. What a great season he had against us from the Gerrard intent no contact penalty in the first game to the Heinze assault. Three points lost in those two games alone without getting onto Mike Blind Riley against West Ham away.
Was at the game, really brought it home how far up the arse of the big teams some of the referees were.
RIP Luton, gone to soon.

R. I. P Luton from Jamaica to the Blades. The look on that City defenders face will always make me smile 😇

Horrible news, godspeed Luton.

I hadn't realised what a goal machine he was for Jamaica, that at least is a good legacy to leave.
